From leading day-to-day warehousing and transportation operations to deploying advanced digital tools and automation, this role sits at the nexus of logistics execution and technology integration. You’ll work closely with global teams across Digital, Quality, Planning, and Manufacturing to accelerate AI-powered visibility, predictive analytics, and real-time logistics orchestration—ensuring world-class service, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance across Moderna’s European footprint.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day logistics hub operations for upstream warehousing and all modes of transportation (air, road, sea).
  • Oversee end-to-end material flow across inbound, intercompany, warehousing, and outbound lanes within the European upstream supply chain.
  • Ensure regulatory adherence to GDP, GMP, Cold Chain, Trade, and Security compliance across all logistics operations.
  • Implement validated shipping processes from goods handling and packaging to customs clearance and shipping documentation.
  • Own and optimize Moderna’s cost-to-serve metrics while maintaining high service reliability and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Quality, Digital, Planning, and Commercial Supply Chain to ensure logistics processes meet business and compliance requirements.
  • Drive automation and next-generation logistics technologies in partnership with Moderna Digital and Logistics Engineering.

  • Integrate AI/ML tools for forecasting, exception management, and digital twins to enable predictive, proactive logistics control.
  • Implement IoT-based cold chain monitoring systems and smart dataloggers to enhance temperature-sensitive product management.
  • Support digital transformation in customs and trade compliance, leveraging automation and real-time tracking capabilities.
  • Ensure seamless digital integration with 3PLs and carriers to drive real-time logistics connectivity and operational agility.
  • Track and analyze logistics KPIs using dashboards and scorecards to guide continuous improvement and performance excellence.
  • Maintain and improve logistics process documentation and SOPs in coordination with both internal stakeholders and 3PLs.
  • Lead delivery of logistics-related initiatives with a focus on automation, scalability, and simplification.

Skills

  • “We digitize everywhere possible using the power of code to maximize our impact on patients.” This role is central to Moderna’s ambition of creating a fully digitized, AI-enabled logistics ecosystem. You’ll be hands-on in deploying platforms like TMS/WMS, integrating IoT and AI/ML into pharma logistics operations, and shaping the future of smart logistics in biotech.
  • “We behave like owners. The solutions we’re building go beyond any job description.” As a sole contributor driving both operational excellence and digital advancement, you’ll need a strong ownership mindset to navigate cross-functional teams, make impactful decisions, and deliver long-term value across European logistics operations.
