Role Summary

Senior Manager, Learning & Development – Epilepsy and Movement Disorders (EMD); remote-based role responsible for shaping and executing the learning strategy across the EMD field force. Leads the design, development, and delivery of innovative training programs to enhance individual and team capabilities. Partners cross-functionally to drive strategic learning initiatives that foster high performance, collaboration, and accountability. Reports to the Director, Learning & Development – EMD Franchise.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive learning strategy and curriculum for the EMD Franchise, aligned with business priorities and field force capabilities.
  • Design, implement, and facilitate onboarding and advanced training programs for EMD field roles, including Neurology Account Managers, Virtual Neurology Account Managers, LTC System Liaisons, and Regional Sales Managers.
  • Deliver impactful training on disease state education, product knowledge, patient-centric messaging, healthcare ecosystem dynamics, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance field effectiveness.
  • Partner with Brand Leads to integrate EMD-specific content into new hire and ongoing development programs for all field roles.
  • Maintain deep understanding of the EMD therapeutic landscape, including clinical data and evolving market dynamics, and translate insights into relevant training.
  • Support product and indications by developing and executing launch readiness training, including workshops, certifications, and reinforcement strategies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Marketing, Sales, Compliance, and Legal to ensure training content is accurate, aligned, and compliant.
  • Apply adult learning principles and instructional design best practices to create engaging, scalable, and competency-based learning experiences.
  • Conduct ongoing needs assessments using field insights, performance data, and stakeholder feedback to continuously refine training strategies.
  • Define and track metrics to measure training effectiveness, partnering with instructional designers and analytics teams to assess impact and drive continuous improvement.
  • Stay current on industry trends, learning technologies, and best practices to inform training innovation and elevate the learning experience.
  • Provide learning opportunities for internal EMD stakeholders beyond the field force, in partnership with broader Learning & Development and Brand Training teams.
  • Ensure all training programs adhere to legal, regulatory, and compliance standards.
  • Manage resources and budgets effectively to deliver high-impact training solutions.
  • Champion a high-performance culture through learning, driving accountability, collaboration, and excellence in execution across the EMD franchise.

Qualifications

  • Required: 8+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, preferably within specialty therapeutics, with a strong understanding of field force dynamics and commercial operations.
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in Learning & Development, Sales Training, or related roles, with a proven ability to design and deliver engaging, adult-learning-based training solutions.
  • Preferred: Ability to thrive and lead effectively in a matrixed, highly regulated environment, collaborating across Sales, Marketing, Medical, Compliance, and Regulatory functions.
  • Preferred: Deep knowledge of field-based roles (e.g., Neurology Account Managers) and internal stakeholders, with an ability to tailor training to diverse learner needs and responsibilities.
  • Preferred: Proven experience in training program development and instructional design, with a focus on adult learning principles, blended learning approaches, and performance-based outcomes.
  • Preferred: Strong vendor management and contract negotiation skills, with the ability to oversee external partners and ensure alignment with strategic training goals.
  • Preferred: Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital learning tools, with the ability to manage content, track learner progress, and analyze training effectiveness.
