Job Summary
- Oversee day-to-day operation of business-critical applications and IT infrastructure (cloud and on-prem); develop long-term system strategy.
- Ensure high availability, performance, reliability; drive standardization, improved monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Strengthen/mature IT operational processes, compliance controls, and change management to maintain stable, secure technology during late-stage clinical growth.
- Lead IT Operations team (manage direct reports) and coordinate with external IT support vendors.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of enterprise applications, infrastructure services, and IT support.
- Lead, train, coach, develop, and retain IT team; build high-performance culture.
- Implement and continuously improve standardized operational processes (monitoring/alerting, automation, documentation).
- Own and mature change management workflows with compliance to GxP, SOX, and internal standards (e.g., NetSuite, Veeva); ensure security, compliance, and audit readiness.
- Operate and support core enterprise and collaboration platforms, especially Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Entra ID/Azure AD, Intune, SharePoint, Teams).
- Manage vendor and stakeholder relationships to ensure reliable service, timely incident resolution, and SLA achievement.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years IT experience; 5+ years in life sciences IT roles overseeing critical applications/systems/infrastructure and enforcing uptime/performance standards; managerial experience.
- Strong experience across cloud/on-prem infrastructure, applications, SaaS, and service desk; ability to drive automation and process/system maintenance.
- Knowledge of ITIL, change management, SOP development, and compliance control maturation.
- Proven vendor management (RFPs, SOWs/MSAs, performance metrics, mutual accountability with Procurement/Legal/Finance).
- Familiarity with Quality/Compliance frameworks (GxP, SOX, data integrity).
