Role Summary

The Senior Manager, HOCT, BD Analytics is a key internal consultant within the BD and Strategy Analytics team at Bristol Myers Squibb. The role conducts financial analysis of business development opportunities and provides valuation insights for deals to enable value-driven R&D and M&A decisions. It also integrates other analytic services to ensure development teams maximize BMS's full analytics capabilities. The ideal candidate has a strong background in statistics, forecasting, decision analysis, risk assessment, and pharmaceutical industry experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead/facilitate product development teams and matrix representatives in identifying compelling development strategies for further analysis.
  • Perform financial analyses of development options to illuminate tradeoffs and enable value-driven R&D decisions.
  • Clearly communicate findings to development teams and senior management.
  • Integrate other analytic services to ensure teams leverage the full set of analytic capabilities.
  • Rapidly learn other teams' capabilities and determine when to involve them to support recommendations for BMS and patients.
  • Develop commercial and development expertise to support and challenge development teams.
  • Quantify technical and regulatory risks and integrate assessments with projections of commercial revenues and costs to value R&D investments for portfolio planning.
  • Support evaluation of licensing and business development opportunities within therapeutic areas and assist with cross-therapeutic area portfolio reviews.
  • Raise key issues and opportunities to team and therapeutic area management.
  • Stay up-to-date on advances in decision analysis and risk assessment.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of forecasting, financial modeling, valuation, and/or decision analysis experience, with probability-based revenue risk adjustments, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline (Finance, Management Science, or Decision Analysis) strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to structure and communicate insightful financial analyses to senior management.
  • Experience in business development and commercial valuation preferred.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong financial valuation and analysis capabilities using spreadsheet software.
  • Experience with decision analysis techniques to evaluate investments under uncertainty and familiarity with Excel Monte Carlo packages (e.g., @Risk, Crystal Ball) desirable.

Additional Requirements
