Works under the supervision of a Director to develop and execute outcomes research to demonstrate the value of AbbVieβs products (internationally or for the U.S. market). Develop and manage outcomes research plans and partner with evidence generation functions/CoEs to deliver HEOR evidence; present findings internally and via peer-reviewed publications/conferences; build research relationships with clinical and outcomes thought leaders.

Responsibilities:
- Develop conceptual frameworks for economic models; manage creation of economic models and supporting materials
- Manage/refresh Outcomes Research Plans (strategic imperatives, value messages, research priorities); translate and quality-check PRO instruments and Clinical Research Forms (CRFs)
- Support brand/asset leads; partner with HEOR COE functions to deliver HEOR projects
- Synthesize complex data to create value messages for dossiers (US/International); support asset strategies and strategic plans
- Lead development/validation/submission/licensing/administration of Patient Reported Outcomes (PRO) measures for RCTs and observational studies
- Conduct research gap analysis; draft/revise protocol synopsis; develop statistical analysis plan; define outcomes research objectives and tactical plans
- Manage evidence generation and documentation (e.g., gap analysis, model scope/framework, study reports, stakeholder training/communications)
- Create/review/approve and submit publications; present at peer-reviewed journals and medical/methodological congresses
- Provide technical support on health outcomes (economic modeling/HTA needs, PRO methods, regulatory requirements for PRO label claims)
- Anticipate and lead strategies/tactics to meet operational needs; present findings to cross-functional teams
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in health economics or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years (Masterβs) or 2 years (PhD; can include fellowship); professional health training (MD, PharmD) is a plus
- Strong foundation in one or more HEOR specialties (epidemiology, biostatistics, PRO, health services research, economics, clinical practice, behavioral science)
- Ability to execute health economic projects from inception through publication/application with minimal oversight
- Proven strategic thinking, operational excellence, and communication skills
- Good understanding of drug development and commercialization process
- Pharmaceutical industry expertise in: economic model creation (budget impact and cost-effectiveness); retrospective/prospective observational studies/analyses; PRO measure development/validation and PRO data analyses
