The GPS (Global Product Development and Supply) Analytics team, part of Business Insights & Technology (BI&T), partners with the GPS organization to answer key business questions that drive business strategy using advanced data analytics and data science.
The Senior Manager, GPS Strategy & Predictive Risk Analytics will work directly with the Director, GPS Strategy & Predictive Risk Analytics to develop analytical business insights, analytics tools, and data science capabilities in support of the GPS Strategy organization and Business Continuity Management (BCM) activities in Global Technical Services (GTS) organization. The Senior Manager, GPS Strategy & Predictive Risk Analytics will lead technical projects in developing data science solutions for GPS in the areas of network strategy, long range supply planning, brand and portfolio strategy, risk management, business continuity management, and business development.
The successful candidate has a scientific background in Business Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Quantitative Finance, or other STEM fields and has expertise in one or more of the following areas: data science, data analytics, data engineering, data visualization, statistics, machine learning, predictive modeling, decision analysis under uncertainty, artificial intelligence, Python and/or R, SQL, App development, and Tableau dashboard development. Experience with simulation techniques and risk management is desired. Knowledge on Supply and Demand planning is a plus. Additionally, a successful candidate is a strong communicator with excellent presentation and writing skills and can manage multiple priorities and projects.
The Senior Manager, GPS Strategy & Predictive Risk Analytics will partner with Network Strategy and Business Insights and Technology (BI&T) stakeholders to establish core capabilities within the team, namely:
Develops state of the art data analysis applications to support data-driven decision making for key questions within GPS Strategy's deliverables. Works closely with business stakeholders to proactively identify and address priority business questions within Network Strategy and Global Supply Chain. Works to embed an objective and unbiased point of view into the business conversation. Acquires a deep understanding of Network Strategy's business priorities and the enterprise portfolio. Builds relationships with key stakeholder and senior leaders within GPS and BI&T. Demonstrates ability to influence senior leaders to adopt analytics-derived insights.
Follows coding best practices and works with IT and other BI&T stakeholders to drive the adoption of these best practices. Leads standardization of code development and data analysis techniques within GPS Analytics. Authors detailed documentation that describes development, assumptions, input data and data processing. Conducts detailed team walkthroughs and peer reviews of team's work to ensure quality, cross-training, and knowledge management. Mentors/coaches junior team members on technical topics.
Designs, develops, and implements a broad array of data analysis applications that solve complex problems in a computationally efficient and statistically appropriate manner. Drives capability build for data automation, cloud computing and data lake integration within the team. Identifies new opportunities to further leverage data and analytical tools. Acts as subject matter expert of the Bristol Myers Squibb technology stack within team and provides technical leadership for driving technology solutions in analytics deployment. Ensures best practice adoption within stated areas of responsibility, applying appropriate levels of technical capability, standardization and subject matter expertise. Actively manages multiple projects in parallel from charter through completion. Defines standards for the provision of analytics to support planning and decision making processes and utilizes appropriate escalation processes. Contributes to defining the overall team strategy in collaboration with team leadership.
