Role Summary
Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis located in South San Francisco, CA. This role acts as a Finance Business Partner between Finance and Clinical Operations, focusing on budgeting, forecasting, and financial close for Clinical Trials within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Onsite four days per week.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of enterprise-level financial planning, including an annual multiyear budget, semi-annual forecast, and strategic initiatives, with sensitivity and risk analysis and departmental targets.
- Clinical Trials budgeting and forecasting, financial close, and reporting processes.
- Monthly R&D accrual processes, including clinical trials.
- Clinical Trials Metrics Forecast Reporting.
- Monthly and quarterly financial performance reporting and communications, including variance analysis to functional leaders, management, and the Board of Directors.
- Build and maintain relationships with clinical, program management, and external CROs; act as a trusted finance partner.
- Leverage FP&A tools and provide ongoing support.
- Analyze internal financial data to identify issues, opportunities, and trends to inform decision-making.
- Maintain SOX documentation and requirements for the assigned area.
- Assist with ad hoc tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelorโs degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA or CPA preferred
- 5โ7 years of related experience in a growth company
- Experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry required
- Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting
- Ability to meet deadlines within fixed timeframes
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
- Solid US GAAP accounting and finance knowledge, including financial statements and forecasts
- Proactive communicator with excellent verbal and written skills
- Ability to build solid relationships with colleagues
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and resourceful
- Strong work ethic, team mentality, and business partnering skills
- Passion for technology and meaningful contributions within a high-aspiration team
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience supporting clinical trials, including accruals
