Role Responsibilities
- Plan and execute medical strategy and customer engagement in assigned territory, coordinating compliantly with cross-functional colleagues to achieve medical objectives.
- Maintain high scientific/therapeutic area knowledge (disease states, standards of care, emerging data, Pfizer medicines) to enable meaningful scientific exchange.
- Provide truthful, balanced, accurate, scientifically supported responses to unsolicited HCP requests in compliance with Pfizer policies/SOPs and regulatory requirements.
- Share externally derived customer insights to inform medical strategy, content development, and execution.
- Identify and explore gaps between evidence-based standards and real-world clinical practice; engage customers in scientific dialogue to understand factors and opportunities for improvement.
- Communicate and collaborate with HQ Medical Affairs, Medical Information, and Field Medical peers to ensure alignment.
- Present and communicate across channels (live/virtual, written, 1:1 and group discussions); optimize patient centricity (health literacy and cultural awareness).
- Deliver approved medical content across local/regional/national forums.
- Identify/prioritize customer segments (HCPs and organized customers such as medical groups, IDNs, payers) and field/triage inbound medical inquiries with compliant follow-up.
- Support Pfizer-sponsored clinical trials site/investigator identification and engagement; support Investigator Sponsored Research (ISR) lifecycle.
- Build expertise via literature review, competitive monitoring, congress attendance, and external expert engagement.
- Understand/communicate clinical study design, methodology, and data interpretation.
- Engage patient advocacy organizations; provide insights on structures/capabilities/unmet needs.
- Serve on committees/initiatives; partner with analytics and stakeholders to evolve medical initiatives.
- Maintain training/compliance expectations and document interactions using digital tools/platforms.

Basic Qualifications
- MD degree required.
- 0+ years relevant experience in clinical practice, clinical research, health services research, or pharma/biotech medical affairs (increasing responsibility).
- Experience with independent scientific exchange/medical decision-making with HCPs.
- Excellent oral/written/presentation skills; strong interpersonal skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in remote field environment.
- Comfort in matrix organization; adaptability; strong problem-solving and networking.
- Proficiency with digital technologies for engagement/documentation.
- Ability to synthesize evidence, real-world insights, and customer perspectives.

Preferred Qualifications
- Prior Field Medical or Medical Affairs experience.
- Familiarity with regulations/codes/guidelines for pharma interactions with HCPs.

Application/Logistics (as stated)
- Territory: WV/KY/TN/MS; must reside in those locations.
- Travel: 50–80%; operate Pfizer company car and regularly fly.
- Valid US driver’s license; DUI/DWI/impaired driving citation in past 7 years disqualifies.
