Responsibilities:
- Support BMS as Senior Manager, EHS & Process Safety for the NBR Facility; develop and execute EH&S programs, policies, procedures, and training to maintain compliance.
- Ensure compliance with federal/state/local environmental, safety, medical surveillance, and sustainability requirements.
- Manage Process Safety Management (PSM) elements (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119) for the Cogeneration Plant (COGEN).
- Support PSM documentation (PSI, P&IDs, equipment specs, relief device records, chemical inventories); lead/enable PHA and HAZOP; resolve action items.
- Manage Management of Change (MOC), conduct Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), and oversee high-risk work programs (e.g., working from heights, electrical safety, excavation/trenching, construction safety, hot work, line breaking, LOTO, safe work permits).
- Investigate industrial accidents/injuries; participate in EHS committees, audits, inspections, and self-assessments; use site management systems.
- Review SOPs vs. BMS and compliance standards; identify gaps and track CAPA.
- Coach/mentor EHS team members.
Qualifications:
- BS in science or engineering (graduate degree and/or relevant license/certification desired).
- 10–15 years’ experience in highly regulated operations/manufacturing in an EHS role.
- Highly preferred: chemical, power plant, or pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Experience in a matrix organization.
- Skilled with Microsoft Office; EHS systems (e.g., Intelex).
