Role Summary

Senior Manager, Digital Transformation responsible for leading site implementation of advanced data analytics, AI, machine learning, digital automation, and other digitalization efforts to deliver the Digital Manufacturing Roadmap for the ME&C site. Drives roadmap execution, prioritizes solutions, and manages digital change across the site in collaboration with AbbVie global teams, site functions, and external providers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of Digital Manufacturing Roadmap for the site supporting digital manufacturing strategy, process, and priorities.
  • Lead execution of governance for the Digital Manufacturing transformation with input into transformation communication and capability-building plans.
  • Define use-case features by engaging users, management, experts and IT/technical team and drive alignment on priority features to implement.
  • Coordinate the process of solution selection and vendor engagement, engaging Senior Information Technology, Senior Operations Technology, and Procurement leaders.
  • Lead team of direct and indirect reports in achieving time-bound impactful goals for the site.
  • Set up Agile team (including site resources, IT team, vendor), establish and execute Agile sprint cadence for solution development.
  • Apply expertise in Data Analytics, Coding, Machine Learning, Generative AI, Agentic AI, and Physical AI to contribute to innovative solutions for applications.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on the progress and impact of digitalization initiatives.
  • Develop project proposals, estimates, and timelines, ensuring appropriate prioritization within the Clinical Sciences project portfolio.
  • Partner with local and global BTS teams to ensure adequate maintenance and repair of current reports and systems.
  • Continuously improve technology solution development and implementation, fostering purposeful innovation to reduce time to value.
  • Support and enhance a governance framework that balances agility and accountability.
  • Develop and maintain cross-functional relationships, gaining alignment on initiative goals and objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, AI/ML, Physics, Math, Business, Management, Engineering, Operations, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience with Bachelors or 8+ years of experience with Masters or 5+ years of experience with PhD, working in Operation/Industrial environment driving technical projects, working with vendors on systems/digital tool implementation, demonstrated experience successfully leading the development and implementation of large scale cross-functional digitalization initiatives within a GPM manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of experience in each of the following areas:
    • BI and Analytics Architecture, Dimensional Modeling, Data Products, Data Visualization, Data discovery, building curated data sets, insight generation and advanced analytics
    • Python, R, JavaScript, Java or other coding language as well as developing and deploying software
    • Implementing and developing AI and Machine Learning technologies
    • Leading technical teams with a proven history of developing and leading high functioning teams
  • Strong financial acumen, operating, and business factors relating to Manufacturing
  • Knowledge of Agile or other Project Management methodologies, as well as Change Management principles and tools
  • Knowledge and experience of Digital Manufacturing technologies/data analytics and transformations
  • Must have strong knowledge of GMP Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Validation, Engineering, and medical device regulations
