Role Summary

The GPS Analytics team, within BMS Business Insights and Technology, partners with the GPS organization to answer key business questions and drive strategy using advanced data science and analytics. The Senior Manager, Development to Launch Analytics will join a dynamic data science and business insights team to tackle strategic questions that drive the enterprise forward. You will develop advanced data analytic tools to guide decisions across end-to-end drug development and product launch activities, elevating analytic capabilities by building and owning machine learning, statistical, and quantitative models, and operationalizing and maintaining these models with DevOps practices and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting Business Decisions: Work with GPS senior leaders to identify priority business questions related to CMC development, new product introduction, and business operations; guide problem identification, hypothesis testing, analysis, and leadership presentations.
  • Driving Analytics and Capabilities: Answer key business questions using innovative analytic and data science techniques; develop core analytical tools including AI/ML models, ETL processes, and statistical methodologies.
  • Driving Team Productivity and Operational Excellence: Promote coding best practices and data analysis methodologies across BI&T; create enterprise standards; document development and data processing; conduct walkthroughs and peer reviews for quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Design, develop, and implement data analysis applications; build capabilities for data automation, cloud computing, and data lake integration; identify opportunities to further leverage data and analytic tools; lead multiple projects from charter to completion; define standards for analytics provisioning and escalation processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business analytics, data science, engineering, finance, or another quantitative field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience with applied machine learning, statistical models, time-series modeling, or quantitative forecasting.
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL, Python, and/or R in production/operational environments.
  • Experience in data architecture and database concepts; experience with probabilistic methods (Monte Carlo simulations, probability theory, Bayesian methods).
  • Experience developing code in a production-grade environment with version control is a plus.
  • Experience in the life sciences/pharmaceutical industry strongly preferred.
  • Strong project management, critical thinking, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a highly matrixed organization; ability to learn new tools quickly and apply GPS-specific knowledge; proven ability to lead small teams and manage multiple deliverables.
