Reporting to the Senior Director, Commercial Training, the Senior Manager, Commercial Training will assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive training programs and curricula to enable Kiniksa to successfully launch and grow the market share of innovative products. The Senior Manager will partner with different teams: Commercial Training, Commercial Operations, Field Commercial Management, and the ARCALYST Brand Lead / Team to ensure proper planning and execution of training events and projects within the Commercial organization, specifically supporting the training of Clinical Sales Specialists (CSS), Inside Sales Representatives (ISR), Thought Leader Liaisons (TLL) and Patient Access Leads (PAL).
This role is based in our Lexington, MA, office. Our office-based employees follow a hybrid schedule, working 4 days in the office and 1 day remotely.
Refinement and tailoring of training programs may require up to 2 days/month in the Field with CSSs and 3 days, twice a year, at Regional, Divisional, or National Field Team Meetings.
Responsibilities (including, But Not Limited To)
- Schedule, lead, and facilitate a portion of Initial Training workshops and practice sessions for new Kiniksa Field Sales (RSD, CSS) and Marketing (TLL, ISR) positions that support the strategic goals of the Commercial organization
- Work with Patient Services leadership to formalize and support the Initial Training curriculum for Patient Access Leads (PAL) as well as identify learning needs, and knowledge & skill-based gaps for developing curricula to support PAL upskilling.
- Develop workshops, construct/distribute correspondence, and manage logistical aspects of Regional, Divisional, and National Field Team Meetings for the U.S. Field Force.
- Responsible for preparing and submitting training documentation/materials for Promotional Review Committee (PRC) review and approval as it relates to training materials for Sales and Patient Services teams.
- Responsible for conducting several field rides with Clinical Sales Specialists (CSS) in the U.S., to eventually tailor the sales training curriculum to regional specifics and dynamics, as well as sustain training programs.
- Contribute to further develop and maintain the ARCALYST mastery learning system, and competency model curriculum to include short-term and long-term objectives aligned with key stakeholders to meet the ongoing, real-time learning needs of the U.S. Field Force and Patient Services.
- Attend appropriate training classes to maintain a high level of knowledge/skill to be effective in the role.
- Document and maintain policies and procedures for areas of responsibility.
- Adherence to Kiniksa Compliance, Legal, and Regulatory principles, and practices at all times.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate Degree required with an advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 5-8 years pharmaceutical/biotech experience required.
- Sales / Sales Management / Training experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills (public speaking; meeting facilitation; writing)
- Proficient knowledge to effectively build curriculum using adult learning principles, blended learning technologies, and instructional design methods is a must.
- Ability to teach state-of-the-art selling skills, including clinical and contextual skills; capability to develop innovative, high-impact training programs to transfer knowledge to field teams.
- Demonstrated project management experience from ideation to implementation to sustainability.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage projects that require effective collaboration across functional areas, and able to develop rapport and credibility with key stakeholders.
- Experience in the cardiovascular therapeutic area / rare disease markets, as well as an established understanding of the dynamics of different patient services programs in the U.S., is preferred.
- Strong commitment to compliance and ethical standards.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.)
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Salary is commensurate with experience.
