Role Summary

Senior Manager, Business Excellence at Santa Clara, CA. Reporting to the Business Excellence Lead, this role aligns long-term business goals with initiatives, measures and tracks performance, and collaborates cross-functionally to identify process improvement opportunities using lean principles.

Responsibilities

  • Host, lead and/or support the Strategic Business Cycle and Performance Review Activities while deploying SC strategy.
  • Lead the Supply Chain End-to-End Performance Management Reporting governance (SC scorecard and strategic project).
  • Collaborate with departments such as source, operations, deliver, finance, engineering, and quality to plan and realize continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead, develop, and implement process improvements and key business improvements.
  • Implement key business improvement initiatives around Product Supply and Cost using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Manufacturing Excellence tools.
  • Facilitate New Idea meetings, site process and continuous improvement initiatives/projects, including managing resources, timelines, and change management tools.
  • Identify opportunities with plant and functional leaders to improve process quality, delivery, and cost performance.
  • Develop a monthly process to measure and analyze cost actions in collaboration with finance and operations, and review with manufacturing leadership.
  • Lead projects that optimize value for multiple product platforms and end-to-end value streams.
  • Facilitate review of project objectives, assumptions, and validation approach; lead project portfolio reviews with leadership and track performance vs targets.
  • Drive end-to-end capacity assessment to deliver BP and LRFP commitments.
  • Lead Lean and Six Sigma trainings and certifications program.
  • Drive continuous improvement and transformational results through end-to-end value streams.
  • Performs other duties as needed.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Industrial Engineering preferred. Advanced degree (MA, MS, MBA) asset.

Experience And Skills

  • Required:
    • Minimum of 12 years in manufacturing with at least 2 years in a Business/Process Excellence role
    • Experience in a highly regulated environment (FDA, ISO, etc.)
    • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Process Excellence/Six Sigma tools and methodologies
    • Experience with LEAN or DMAIC/DMADV
    • Microsoft Office proficiency
    • Excellent verbal and written communications; strong decision making and problem solving; interpersonal and influencing skills
    • Ability to collaborate across all management levels in a matrix organization
  • Preferred:
    • Experience developing and executing change management plans
    • Direct experience in medical device industry
    • SPC, DOE, ANOVA, pFMEA/dFMEA experience
    • Project management tools/processes experience
    • Six Sigma Black Belt/Master Black Belt; Lean training
    • Supply Chain/Procurement/Operations certifications (e.g., APICS, PMP, Six Sigma)
