Role Summary

Lead the reliability backbone of our Morris Plains, New Jersey site. As Senior Manager, Engineering โ€“ Asset Lifecycle Management, you will guide a team of site-based engineers to ensure every process and laboratory asset is designed, maintained, improved, and retired with intention. You will set maintenance strategy, champion data-driven reliability, and own master data and Key Performance Indicators to keep equipment available, compliant, and audit-ready. Partner across Operations and Manufacturing Sciences to support new product introductions, define User Requirements, Functional Specifications, and Detailed Design Specifications, and drive facility changes aligned to five- and ten-year plans. By strengthening Root Cause Analysis and Corrective and Preventive Action disciplines and investing in training and cross-skilling, you will directly enhance patient safety, regulatory confidence, and uninterrupted production. Location: Morris Plains, NJ.

Responsibilities

  • Define and continuously improve site maintenance strategy for all equipment.
  • Execute asset lifecycle management to meet global Novartis standards.
  • Lead the site reliability program using data-driven approaches.
  • Mentor and manage engineers supporting 24/7 operations.
  • Own and optimize master data for process, utility, Quality Control, and Technical Research and Development equipment.
  • Develop, monitor, and enhance Key Performance Indicators for system reliability.
  • Drive change management and Corrective and Preventive Actions to ensure equipment reliability.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Required: Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in a Good Manufacturing Practiceโ€“regulated environment.
  • Required: Proven experience with regulatory audits and inspections.
  • Required: Demonstrated use of Root Cause Analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis).
  • Required: Strong background in leading or supporting investigations.
  • Required: Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Preferred: Professional experience in Reliability Engineering.
  • Preferred: Experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
