Role Summary

Senior Manager, Agile Sourcing, GPS Contract Lead. Lead and deliver contracting capability to support Global Products Supply (GPS) through efficient contract review, issue identification and analysis, redlining, negotiation and management of escalations to the legal department. Manage collaboration across GPS functions and cross-functional stakeholders to handle a variety of agreement types and deadlines, ensuring contracts are negotiated and executed effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and manage the end-to-end contracting process in support of operations with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Perform appropriate due diligence by issue spotting and assessing risk mitigating options, including contract analysis to identify key legal terms needing mitigation by the Legal team
  • Act as a conduit across the GPS Agile Sourcing team to triage and support various Agreement terms and negotiations processes across categories
  • Drive and manage the end-to-end contracting process and execute contracts in a timely manner with appropriate legal support to ensure compliance with company standards
  • Negotiate business/commercial terms to advance BMS' interests and explain risks and implications to internal stakeholders to aid decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with guidelines and policies; obtain required SME input (privacy, finance, taxation, customs and trade, information security, systems quality, EHS, System Access, Audits, etc.)
  • Maintain awareness of pre-contracting steps and related BMS policies and procedures
  • Act as a trusted advisor to GPS category managers and site contacts to ensure procurement strategies meet business requirements
  • Lead complex contract negotiations in partnership with stakeholders, procurement, legal and subject matter experts
  • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely, compliant and efficient contract facilitation
  • Identify escalation points for Agile Sourcing to interface with stakeholders on contracting and procurement policy
  • Monitor performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement of contracting strategy
  • Partner and share best practices with Agile Sourcing to ensure business needs are met in an aligned manner
  • Develop and maintain contracting guidance documents with procurement and legal to improve contracting efficiency
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives toward an industry-leading contracting capability; contribute to training and expand contracting skillsets
  • Explore new contracting processes and technologies with focus on AI/ML to enhance productivity and agility

Qualifications

  • Minimum education of a B.S./B.A.; legal training or certifications (e.g., LLB or JD) preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years of related experience in procurement, sourcing and contracting, including drafting, redlining, reviewing and negotiating procurement/business contracts; experience with Master Services Agreements in international markets
  • Expertise in contract construction and terms; working knowledge of facilitating, drafting and negotiating buy-side and in-scope contracts in pharma/biotech
  • Experience leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams; ability to influence in a matrix structure
  • Adaptability in ambiguous/complex environments; ability to balance multiple demands professionally
  • Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management technology (e.g., Icertis) to automate and streamline processes
