Role Summary
Senior Maintenance Technician β Utilities β Day Shift is responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance to support the start-up of plant utilities and daily operations on a rotating day shift (2-2-3, 7amβ7pm).
Responsibilities
- Perform intermediate installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, testing and documentation/logs of process and utility equipment.
- Perform operations, maintenance and repair activities on utility equipment and systems serving Manufacturing, Lab, and various operations across the ANC site.
- Maintain plant systems including steam, chilled water, compressed air, cooling tower water, and heating hot water.
- Maintain Manufacturing and Lab utility systems including clean steam, water for injection (WFI), process cooling water, process air, process gases, process waste, HVAC systems, walk-in cold rooms and freezers, and other environmental control units (chambers).
- Conduct inspections, testing, major/minor equipment overhauls, pump and valve rebuilds/replacements, HVAC troubleshooting/repair, piping modifications/repairs, and related maintenance activities.
- Partner with maintenance service providers and equipment vendors.
- Complete quality and safety documentation and perform work in a safe, compliant, and timely manner according to planning and predefined schedules with minimal impact to production, aligned with GMPs, SOPs, and Amgen policies.
- Work in a productive and efficient manner with focus on maintenance excellence; communicate work to system operators and key stakeholders; ensure accurate work order documentation; review maintenance reports, forms, plans and records.
- Identify waste, workflow interrupters, and other opportunities for improvement; recommend solutions and assist with implementation.
- Identify opportunities to learn new skills and participate in development to improve overall team performance.
- Represent the Utilities Maintenance team in discussions and meetings with management and peers.
- Provide facility and manufacturing support as needed with on-call rotation, which may include outside normal hours such as nights, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
- Required: High School Diploma / GED and 2 years of Utility Operations or Maintenance experience OR Associateβs Degree and 6 months of Utility Operations or Maintenance experience
- Preferred: 5+ years of knowledge of utility operations and mechanical maintenance with emphasis on plant utility equipment and systems (chillers, boilers, cooling towers, air compressors, etc.)
- Preferred: 3+ years knowledge of pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems and ability to perform related maintenance activities
- Preferred: Experience in a cGMP or other highly regulated environment
- Preferred: Experience executing and documenting maintenance work orders in a computerized maintenance management system
- Preferred: Ability to interpret P&ID diagrams
- Preferred: Ability to work with minimal direction and communicate issues and task status promptly
- Preferred: Ability to interact constructively with peers and teams
