Senior IT Systems and Support Technician (Life Sciences)

Position Overview:
Onsite Senior IT Systems and Support Technician providing technical leadership for enterprise systems administration, infrastructure operations, IT service management, and cybersecurity in a regulated biotech environment.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as Tier 3 escalation for complex issues across endpoints, infrastructure, applications, and cloud.
- Mentor Tier 1/Tier 2 support technicians.
- Act as ServiceNow power user and subject matter expert.
- Maintain high-quality ServiceNow documentation for incidents, changes, and resolutions.
- Continuously improve ITSM processes aligned with ITIL best practices.
- Develop SOPs, knowledge base articles, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate support with IT Managed Service Providers (MSPs), vendors, and internal partners.
- Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours support as required.
Systems Administration / Enterprise Apps:
- Administer Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Cloud PC, Entra ID).
- Administer business-critical apps (ERP, CRM, HRIS, EDMS).
- Provide IT support for R&D laboratory systems.
- Oversee endpoint management (Intune, JAMF, NinjaOne).
- Manage Windows/macOS workstations, iOS/Android devices, and client software.
- Follow formal change management for regulated systems.
- Support infrastructure planning and lifecycle management.
Cybersecurity / Compliance:
- Secondary administrator for selected cybersecurity systems.
- Assist with security incident response and risk remediation with SOC/MSP partners.
- Support EDR, patch management, and device compliance.
- Manage identity/access controls (MFA, SSO, RBAC, conditional access).
- Maintain GxP systems in compliance with FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and data integrity requirements.
- Support Finance, Legal, and Quality during audits/inspections.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years progressive IT support and systems administration experience.
- 2+ years in Tier 3 or senior technical role.
- Life science regulated industry experience (biotech/pharma/medical device) strongly preferred.
Preferred Certifications:
- Microsoft (M365, Azure, Intune, Windows Server); ITILv4 Foundation; ServiceNow CSA; CompTIA A+/Network+/Security+.
- Security-related (CySA+, CISSP, or equivalent) a plus.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong hands-on ServiceNow ITSM experience.
- Experience with on-prem and cloud computing.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
Compensation (if applicable):
- Washington State pay range: $102,777 - $131,784 USD.
