Position Summary:
Senior IT Business Analyst (Sr. IT BA) – Research Sample & Reagent Management is accountable for delivering IT capabilities and services for BMS Research, focused on Sample Management and Reagent Management within Drug Discovery Research. Partners with IT and scientific researchers to identify, define, and drive digital capabilities, including cross-functional initiatives. Bridges business analysis and hands-on development (prototyping/validating), applying AI/Generative AI to accelerate discovery and automate workflows. Expected to oversee Jr. IT Business Analysts and Consultants.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop domain knowledge of Sample Management and Reagent Management processes, workflows, and data.
- Translate scientific workflows into actionable digital requirements.
- Liaison for how samples/reagents are tracked, stored, consumed, and reported across the drug discovery lifecycle.
- Elicit and document requirements (user stories, process maps, use cases); manage stakeholder expectations.
- Advocate for value and support business cases; measure business outcomes.
- Prototype/thin-slice solutions; develop/configure using low-code/no-code, scripting (Python/SQL or equivalent).
- Lead POCs; define acceptance criteria; support UAT to ensure outcomes match intent.
- Apply approved GenAI tools; identify AI opportunity areas; follow responsible AI principles.

Qualifications:
Required:
- BS/MS/PhD in Life Sciences or Technical discipline.
- 5+ years progressive IT experience supporting scientific applications in pharma/biotech/life sciences.
- Direct hands-on experience with Sample Management and/or Reagent Management in Drug Discovery Research.
- Agile/Scrum working knowledge; SQL and/or Python proficiency.
- Strong collaboration, communication, presentation; track record delivering digital projects.
Preferred:
- Scientific inventory/reagent platform experience; Drug Discovery Research exposure.
- Low-code/no-code (Power Platform/ServiceNow), GenAI tool familiarity, IIBA certification.
- Experience overseeing Jr. BAs/consultants.
