Role Summary
Senior IT AV Engineer responsible for ensuring seamless conference room operations, AV infrastructure health, and support for large-scale events. Customer-facing role focused on delivering high-quality, reliable AV experiences across onsite and hybrid environments.
Responsibilities
- Conference Room Operations: Manage and monitor AV hardware across onsite conference rooms, ensuring reliability, usability, and uptime. Be the go-to contact for any AV-related issues.
- Event Support: Lead AV setup, coordination, and live support for weekly all-hands and other high-profile events, providing calm, professional service in front of executives and large groups.
- Hardware & System Maintenance: Proactively test, validate, and maintain Q-SYS, Logitech, and Google Meet hardware. Apply updates, resolve issues, and minimize downtime.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Track system health, uptime, and usage metrics. Deliver recommendations for upgrades, lifecycle planning, and continuous improvement.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with IT Operations, Facilities, and leadership teams to design, deploy, and maintain scalable, modern AV solutions.
- Documentation & Training: Create clear runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and user training to empower employees and ensure consistent standards.
- Innovation & Improvement: Identify new tools, workflows, or practices that elevate collaboration and enhance the user experience.
- Travel: Provide AV support at Recursionβs NYC office approximately twice per quarter.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive AV engineering experience in enterprise or large-scale environments.
- Deep knowledge of AV hardware and collaboration platforms, including Logitech, Google Meet, and Zoom.
- Proven experience supporting large-scale meetings, livestreams, and hybrid corporate events.
- Experience monitoring AV system health and uptime using proactive monitoring and alerting tools.
- Familiarity with conference room standards, AV integrations, and best practices for hybrid environments.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly resolve complex AV issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to train and support non-technical users.
- Willingness to travel twice quarterly to support events at remote offices.
- Preferred: Experience with enterprise IT operations, networking, or cloud collaboration tools (Google Workspace, Zoom, etc.).
