Role Summary
Senior Instrument Technician who provides technical expertise and guidance to support the start-up of the plant and daily operations. Responsible for calibration, installation, troubleshooting, and documentation of instruments used on process control and building systems, with a focus on maintenance excellence and GMP compliance.
Responsibilities
- During Construction Phase: work with the Capital Project Delivery team to support start-up, commissioning, and qualification of equipment and systems across Manufacturing, Laboratories, Utilities, and related areas.
- Support Metrology program implementation in line with GMPs, safety requirements, regulations, and maintenance standards.
- Develop and implement Metrology program documentation, including SOPs, Change Control, Non-Conformance, Work Orders, Job Plans, Hazard/Risk Assessments, and Job Hazard Assessments.
- Ensure staff safety during plant construction, start-up operations, and metrology activities.
- Post-Construction: perform calibration, repair, installation, troubleshooting, and documentation of instruments on process control and building systems.
- Complete quality and safety documentation and perform work safely, compliantly, and on schedule with minimal production impact in alignment with GMPs, SOPs, and company policies.
- Maximize maintenance activities while maintaining high productivity and efficiency.
- Communicate work status to system operators and stakeholders; ensure accurate work order documentation.
- Review and technically approve maintenance reports, forms, plans, and records.
- Identify waste and opportunities for process improvements; assist with implementing solutions.
- Pursue opportunities to learn new skills and contribute to team development; represent Maintenance in cross-functional discussions.
- Provide facility and manufacturing support as needed, including on-call rotation outside normal hours (nights, weekends, holidays).
Qualifications
- Required: High school diploma / GED with 6 years of Maintenance experience, or Associateβs degree with 4 years of Maintenance experience.
- Preferred: Experience in mechanical maintenance with sanitary processing equipment and systems; 3+ years knowledge of pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems; experience in a highly regulated function (cGMP); experience documenting maintenance work orders in a computerized maintenance management system; ability to interpret P&ID diagrams; ability to work with minimal direction; effective written and verbal communication; teamwork and collaboration.
