Role Summary

Senior Health Systems Manager, Mid Atlantic region (responsible for Charlotte, NC; Raleigh, NC; Knoxville, TN; Richmond, VA; Columbia, SC areas). Build and nurture relationships with leading healthcare institutions, Centers of Excellence, hospitals, and thought leaders to identify collaborations that improve access to Acadia’s therapies and expand impact. Drive strategy to implementation and pull-through at account and customer levels, shaping the future of care in the region.

Responsibilities

  • Identify business opportunities, develop complex approaches to account engagement, and execute against ACADIA’s strategic imperatives.
  • Assess and prioritize key health system opportunities based on market potential, payer influence, and strategic fit.
  • Identify, develop and advance relationships with influential operational leaders, Specialty Pharmacies and Key Medical Experts.
  • Create and manage business plans for key IDN and Health System accounts that drive patient access, adherence, and meaningful patient outcomes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for senior-level executives within targeted systems to align shared goals and outcomes.
  • Use market data, system analytics, and competitive insights to inform strategic planning and execution.
  • Educate on potential EHR interventions within Centers of Excellence and IDNs; understand patient journey gaps in care.
  • Implement medication transitions of care processes within Health Systems, including system-wide discharge order sets; assist with formulary access when needed.
  • Conduct IDN SPP QBRs to advance projects, overcome access barriers, and identify future opportunities.
  • Educate and engage Fellows & Residents to align on project development within Centers of Excellence, IDN, or Health System.
  • Meet Brand and Access Objectives that drive market share growth while ensuring compliance with targeted accounts.
  • Record account information and competitive intelligence through account management tools.
  • Create access and pull-through opportunities for the field sales organization within Centers of Excellence to increase compliance, market share, and profits.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and US healthcare laws and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in business, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • Senior Health Systems Manager – Required: minimum of 12 years of experience in pharmaceuticals or life sciences; minimum of 5 years in institutional, IDN/complex health system management, or regional sales leadership with national-level impact; demonstrated experience with integrated delivery networks (IDNs), Centers of Excellence, and large Health Systems; ability to travel 50–75%.
  • Health Systems Manager – Required: minimum of 8 years of experience in pharmaceuticals, life sciences, account management, or hospital sales; strong preference for CNS and Specialty Pharmacy and institutional/IDN experience.

  • Experience in CNS and Specialty Pharmacy
  • Experience with institutional and/or IDN/complex systems

  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders across complex healthcare systems; strong analytical, problem-solving, and business acumen.
  • Experience developing account-level strategies that drive measurable impact and expanding market access.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; strong influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to present technical information clearly; proficient in Microsoft Suite, Smartsheet, CRM.
  • Ability to analyze data and insights to define strategy; work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Executive presence and professionalism; compliance with strict policy in a regulated environment.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Life Sciences, or a related field

Additional Requirements

  • Travel: ability to travel 50-75% by car or airplane; willing to work after hours as needed.
  • Must live within a reasonable distance to a major airport.
  • Physical demands: regular standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands; may lift up to 20 pounds.
