Role Summary

Senior Health & Science Specialist, Rare Endocrinology – Chicago, IL will target key Centers of Excellence and select community practices focusing on Endocrinology/Pituitary Specialists and Pediatric Endocrinology to drive Pfizer's Rare Disease portfolio. The role involves territory optimization, delivering COE value, and leading initiatives to increase access and appropriate use of products, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to maximize opportunities within the Rare Disease portfolio. You will lead the Rare Disease portfolio within the territory, act as a resource to national brand teams, and support the Rare Disease culture.

Responsibilities

  • Form collaborative partnerships with decision-makers at large COEs, integrated delivery networks, medical groups, and infusion centers to conduct need assessments and deliver compliant solutions to increase access and appropriate use.
  • Utilize advanced selling skills to achieve sales target goals.
  • Possess in-depth expertise of assigned products and their therapeutic areas, including knowledge of payer and market issues, patient service offerings, competitors, and disease states.
  • Responsible for commercial communications and contact with COEs, KOLs, HCPs, Growth Hormone Coordinators and patient support staff.
  • Collaboratively work with Trade and Payer colleagues to execute national and regional payer strategies.
  • Lead local coordination of internal colleagues at targeted accounts to ensure alignment across stakeholders and maximize opportunities for access.
  • Collaborate with sales, government relations, Payer Channel Access, marketing, and other Pfizer colleagues.
  • Prioritize customers, opportunities, and projects to maximize impact using data and stakeholder input to optimize decision-making.
  • Work with government relations to establish state policies and implement tactics across brands.
  • Execute marketing programs across customer segments using approved materials to deliver value-added messaging in a compliant manner; develop and execute strategic programs with near, mid, and long-term impact.
  • Drive innovation approaches that help exceed business objectives by engaging leadership.
  • Provide insights to marketing and strategy teams to craft market-specific materials.
  • Cultivate relationships with COE, KOLs, and decision-makers (public and private).
  • Maintain active customer plans and data sets, sharing information with area business partners.
  • Exceed product performance objectives for the assigned portfolio of rare disease products.
  • Address Tactical Business Objectives including portfolio utilization, teamwork, project management, and administration.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA Degree Required OR an associate’s degree with 8+ years of experience; OR a high school diploma (or equivalent) with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • 5-10 years of pharmaceutical/biotech experience with at least three years in specialty sales or a promoted/developmental role with leadership across peer groups in a specialized market.
  • Strong track record of sales success, territory management, communication, teamwork, leadership, and accountability.
  • Proven ability to assess account needs and bring compliant cross-functional tools and resources to drive performance.
  • Solid business acumen, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and project management skills; strong planning and prioritization abilities.
  • Experience with key thought leaders or high-influence customers in large group practices, hospitals, or managed care organizations preferred.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills; ability to analyze data and draw compliant conclusions using sales data and reporting applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; ability to influence and align across company policies.
  • Ability to travel domestically and stay overnight as necessary.
  • Valid US driver’s license and driving record in compliance with company standards.
