Role Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst provides critical ongoing reporting and data insights to assist the CFO and the Executive Leadership team in making decisions about the Company’s financial status and future. This position is located at the Irving, TX headquarters of Caris Life Sciences, reporting to the Finance Manager, and works with the Finance and Accounting teams to produce accurate and timely reporting related to operations and the company’s financial performance. The role requires strong business acumen, deep financial expertise, and effective communication to partner across the organization, deliver insights, and support forecasting and decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as key support for forecasting, annual budget, long-term planning, monthly close, and analytics for multiple functional areas.
  • Develop and communicate ongoing monitoring of relevant business metrics across financial and non-financial areas.
  • Provide timely periodic and ad hoc financial reporting, analyze variances to plans, and offer performance improvement recommendations.
  • Facilitate business planning within assigned groups to ensure optimal implementation and ongoing management of business models.
  • Support month-end close activities within deadlines, including reporting of production activities, department costs, variance analysis, and required journal entries.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve potential issues within tight time constraints.
  • Load and maintain data templates through Oracle/Hyperion for monthly and executive reporting.
  • Perform industry analysis of competitors, trends, and external benchmarking of key metrics.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Accounting/Finance, 2–4 years of experience in Corporate Finance and/or FP&A, direct experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting, and knowledge of income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement drivers.
  • Required: Financial reporting skills to synthesize large data sets for presentation to business partners and executive leadership.
  • Required: Detail-oriented, strong work ethic, and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and strong verbal/written communication; ability to collaborate across levels.
  • Preferred: Experience with Oracle/EPBCS and Hyperion; advanced Excel (Power Query, PivotTables, macros) and PowerPoint; familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker); SQL or similar data querying languages.
  • Preferred: Background in biotechnology/life sciences; experience with private equity-backed environments or M&A support; understanding of healthcare reimbursement models.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Accounting/Finance (required)
