Position Summary:
The Senior Financial Analyst specializes in managing and reporting budgeting analysis, forecasting analysis, variance analysis, variance commentary, reporting and reviews, and presentation and project preparation. This individual will be the financial business partner to specific departments and senior leaders, supporting the overall corporate finance and Financial Planning & Analysis function.
Schedule:
This position is in-office from Monday β Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Fridays.
Position Scope:
- Support annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process
- Collaborate with functional leadership to develop accurate budgets and forecasts.
- Ensure key expense drivers are well understood by all stakeholders.
- Analyze and report on monthly and quarterly variances
- Conduct monthly variance analysis vs. budget, forecast and prior year to gain insights into performance vs. expectations.
- Prepare and present monthly financial results for assigned areas to finance leadership team and functional leaders.
- Ensure functional leadership understands variances and potential impact on performance to budget / forecast.
- Ensure accuracy of monthly results
- Own accrual process for designated functions.
- Review monthly transactions for accuracy.
- Capital planning
- Lead the consolidated capital planning and forecasting process working cross functionally to develop annual plans and regular forecast updates.
- Ad hoc support
- Partner with functional and financial leadership on special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Masterβs degree preferred.
- 5+ years of professional experience as a financial analyst or similar position
- Advanced Excel modeling skills
- Experience with cloud-based budgeting software such as Adaptive Insights
- General understanding of GAAP
- Strategic mindset
- Willingness to be into the details
- Strong written (Word & PowerPoint) and verbal communication skills
- Commercial and/or R&D finance experience preferred but not required
