About the Role:
As a Senior Facility Engineer, you will lead complex facility engineering projects at Takeda’s Round Lake site to strengthen infrastructure reliability, optimize clean utilities, and improve operational efficiency.
How you will contribute:
- Lead facility engineering projects to improve reliability, performance, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate annual facility shutdowns (planning, scheduling, resources, escalation, execution oversight).
- Manage/support critical utilities (HVAC, clean steam, WFI, RO water, compressed air, related infrastructure).
- Develop and implement KPIs for utility performance, landlord-managed services, and facility reliability.
- Lead facility change controls, risk assessments, deviations, investigations, and CAPA activities (GMP compliance).
- Manage external vendors/contractors to meet safety, quality, and technical standards.
- Partner with Validation, Quality, Manufacturing, Maintenance, and Engineering to deliver compliant and sustainable solutions.
- Support engineering standards/procedures/documentation improvements.
- Provide technical expertise for regulatory inspections, internal audits, and quality assessments.
- Lead sustainability and energy reduction projects.
- Develop project schedules, cost estimates, budgets, and implementation plans.
- Support facility security/infrastructure improvements (e.g., access control/monitoring).
- Mentor junior engineers and act as a technical resource.
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
What you bring to Takeda:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
- 5+ years in facilities/utilities/infrastructure or manufacturing operations in a regulated environment.
- Project experience from planning through execution.
- Hands-on HVAC and critical facility infrastructure experience.
- Experience with clean utilities (WFI, RO water, clean steam, compressed air or similar).
- GMP-regulated industry experience (pharma/biotech/medical device/food/chemical, etc.).
- Experience with change controls, deviations, investigations, CAPAs, and engineering documentation.
- Project management skills (scope, scheduling, budgeting, stakeholder management).
- Strong written/verbal communication; ability to lead without direct supervisory authority.
Preferred:
- Pharmaceutical/biotech manufacturing; cleanroom/aseptic facilities; shutdown planning/execution.
- Vendor/contractor management.
- Sustainability, utility optimization, energy management; supporting regulatory inspections/audits.
Important Considerations (role requirements):
- Ability to carry/lift/push/pull (up to 20–25 lbs with assistance as needed), stand/walk extensively, and perform physical tasks in controlled/clean environments.
- May require gowning and work in confined spaces; no cephalosporin allergy.
- May require multiple shifts including weekends/extended hours.
Compensation and Benefits (as stated):
- U.S. base salary range: $89,900–$141,240.
