Role Summary

Senior Event Planner responsible for managing and supporting strategic, operational, and logistical activities for meetings and events; collaborates with clients and may liaise with third-party vendors. Oversees annual planning budgets for pipeline and in-line products and works with affiliates to unify meeting and events management domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior management to streamline meetings and events management, identify synergies across brands and therapeutic areas, and find cost-effective convention marketing solutions.
  • Utilize tracking and measurement tools to assess qualitative and quantitative effectiveness of expenditures.
  • Maintain, report, and forecast annual brand meeting budgets.
  • Liaise with Compliance to track and monitor compliance-related expenditures and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure integrity of all HCP interactions at conventions and affiliated meetings per corporate guidelines and policies.
  • Monitor vendor compliance with policies and procedures, including regulatory and promotional material and HCP interactions.
  • Communicate and enforce International Congress/Event Guidelines where applicable.
  • Serve as program lead for national and global meeting/event programs.
  • Collaborate with marketing Brand stakeholders, financial controllers, procurement, and vendor partners.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to determine program synergies/opportunities and deliver consistent service and messaging across all convention programs; research and recommend logistics, technology, and industry solutions.

Qualifications

  • Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business, communication, organizational leadership or related field; 5+ years of work experience.
  • Preferred: Convention planning experience including staff and vendor management.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with experience managing both small and large-scale projects.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Excellent people and communication skills; ability to operate in a cross-cultural, complex matrix environment and build consensus without direct authority.
  • Analytical, forward-thinking, results-oriented, self-organized, and self-starter.
  • Proven track record of delivering results; adaptable and capable of acting as a change agent in evolving environments.
