About the role:
Manager-level leadership opportunity for an EHS professional in biopharmaceutical manufacturing; serves as a strategic EHS leader and technical expert partnering with manufacturing, lab, warehouse, and engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with manufacturing and laboratory leaders to embed EHS into daily operations and build a culture of care and accountability.
- Own core EHS programs: machine guarding, LOTO, confined space, and fall protection; develop improvements to enhance compliance and reduce risk.
- Advise and coach supervisors, engineers, and technicians to identify hazards and implement sustainable solutions.
- Lead EHS for large capital/engineering projects (safe design, construction, and startup).
- Facilitate incident investigations (learning, root cause analysis, continuous improvement).
- Analyze EHS data, identify trends, and communicate performance insights.
- Lead safety committees, mentor EHS champions, and partner cross-functionally.
Qualifications / Required:
- 10+ years EHS experience; at least 3 years in high-pace/high-volume manufacturing.
- BS/BA in a technical discipline (engineering, safety, industrial hygiene, environmental studies, life science or similar).
Preferred:
- CSP/CIH/CHMM (or similar) and/or masterโs degree.
- ISO 14001/45001, LEAN, Six Sigma.
- Technology transfers, process scale-ups, and process hazard analysis.
Additional considerations:
- Lexington, MA with occasional nearby-site travel; possible cleanroom/PPE use and occasional off-hour support.
- Ability to travel; may work in varying conditions; lift/carry up to 25 lbs.
Compensation/benefits (as stated):
- Base salary range: $116,000โ$182,270; may be eligible for incentives and benefits (medical/dental/vision, 401(k), disability, life, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, etc.).
