Role Summary

Senior Engineer, Technology II (SAP – Supply Chain Management) role focused on conceiving, designing, engineering, and implementing data, software, and technology solutions within the Supply Chain Management function, with emphasis on SAP (LE, IM, WM/EWM) and related platforms. Leads design decisions, mentors teams, and drives productivity and efficiency across multiple business areas.

Responsibilities

  • Within SAP systems (LE, IM, WM/EWM) and beyond: conceive, design, engineer, and implement software and technology solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying system flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; demonstrate the ability to resolve key project hurdles and assumptions using available information and technical expertise. Perform and validate SAP configurations.
  • Demonstrate high proficiency across a wide range of technologies and platforms related to software design and development, programming languages, data integration, data warehousing, data analysis and visualization tools, data storage, network connectivity, and virtualization/cloud environments.
  • Demonstrate the ability to design, develop complex SAP solutions, lead design decisions, and develop test plans including scenarios.
  • Utilize knowledge of the pharmaceutical and healthcare business to rapidly advance agile, impactful, and cost-effective solutions.
  • Operate autonomously and productively with minimal direction, keeping key stakeholders informed through effective verbal and written communication.
  • Build and leverage relationships with affiliates, subsidiaries, vendors, and industry peers in line with Abbvie Values, Vendor Management Office, and Purchasing to support organizational goals.
  • May mentor/supervise a team of one or more and evaluate performance; accountable for effective team/individual performance.
  • Adhere to corporate standards regarding applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies, including code of conduct, safety, GxP compliance, data security, and the software development lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with 7 years‚Äô experience; Master's Degree with 6 years‚Äô experience; PhD with 2 years‚Äô experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
  • Thorough theoretical and practical understanding of the relevant discipline.
  • Proven implementation of creative technology solutions that advance business.
  • Proven expertise in SAP LE, IM, WM/EWM, and integration technologies (API, EDI, IDOCs).
  • Ability to strategically analyze and develop solutions for complex SAP-related problems.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA and familiarity with supply chain management systems is a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
