Senior Engineer, Technology I

Role Summary

Senior Engineer, Technology I will investigate, identify, and implement state-of-the-art technology platforms to drive productivity and efficiency gains across multiple business areas. The role acts as a cloud application engineer, evaluating relevant technological advances and integrating this knowledge into new business technology solutions.

Responsibilities

• Directly involve in the design and operation of large-scale cloud services (AWS), including troubleshooting and performance tuning
• This position demands critical thinking skills, ability to quickly understand existing systems and the ability to work in agile environments.
• Building Cloud Native Services using REST APIs, Microservices-based architectures, and containerized technologies
• Building in high-scale distributed systems and fault-tolerant design
• Develop Agile and Test-driven development methodologies
• Develop the software development lifecycle, including version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, testing, and regional cloud deployments
• Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies, including code of conduct, safety, GxP compliance, data security, and the software development lifecycle
• Conduct technology assessments and proof-of-concepts to evaluate emerging solutions for business needs
• Implement security best practices and work with cross-functional teams
• Engineer platform-as-a-product solutions supporting diverse tech stacks with developer-first design and self-service capabilities
• Integrate generative AI capabilities into enterprise applications, enabling intelligent automation and enhanced user experiences
• Implement OpenTelemetry standards for comprehensive observability, distributed tracing, and performance monitoring
• Leverage AWS expertise to architect high-performance, auto-scaling solutions optimizing cost and reliability

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's Degree with 6 years’ experience; Master’s degree with 5 years’ experience; PhD with 0 years.
• Preferred: Experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong hands-on technology experience developing applications on AWS cloud
• Proven implementation of creative technology solutions that advanced the business
• Experience working with Java or other modern programming languages
• A passion to learn new software technologies
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills
• Experience conducting technology evaluations or assessments
• Technology certifications are strongly preferred, AWS certifications a plus

Education

• Education: Bachelor's degree with 6 years’ experience; Master’s degree with 5 years’ experience; PhD with 0 years. Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
