Senior Engineer: Conceive and execute novel scientific research or development that achieves projects and area goals.
Responsibilities:
- Resolve key project hurdles and assumptions by effectively utilizing available information and technical expertise.
- Generate new scientific proposals and lead related efforts.
- Investigate, identify, develop, and optimize new methods and techniques.
- Act as a lead scientist in your area of expertise.
- Critically evaluate relevant scientific and regulatory advances and integrate this knowledge into research/development programs.
- Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and present at scientific conferences.
- Proactively seek new literature information and incorporate it into individual projects and the overall program.
- Pursue project-relevant leads aligned with the group’s strategy.
- Maintain a high level of productivity in the lab.
- Adhere to corporate standards (code of conduct, safety, proper handling of materials, controlled drug/radioactive compounds, GxP compliance, and animal care where applicable).
- May mentor/supervise one or more team members and guide/evaluate performance; accountable for team effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s (typically 12 years), Master’s (typically 10 years), or PhD (typically 4 years) in an equivalent field.
- Thorough theoretical and practical understanding of your scientific discipline.
- Effective writer and communicator of research and/or regulatory materials.
