Role Summary

The Senior Electrician will develop programs, budgets, and project plans for new construction, relocation, and expansions for a multi-site healthcare company with operations in Dallas, TX, and Phoenix, AZ. This position will be responsible for maintaining optimal functioning of current building assets and systems. The environment is growth-oriented and dynamic, supporting both new business line launches and additional sites during this year.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct tests and assessments of new systems and repairs to ensure quality. This includes thermal imaging and electrical test of insulation performance (meg an electric motor).
  • Assemble and install electrical panels, wire harnesses, conduit, and other electrical equipment.
  • Respond quickly to all service requests and efficiently troubleshoot and repair electrical systems.
  • Communicate estimated timelines for repairs to those impacted.
  • Install new equipment and wiring to expand infrastructure as needed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on a regular schedule.
  • Implementing and overseeing preventative maintenance programs to include the ongoing maintenance and repair of building assets, systems, and equipment.
  • Establishing relationships with key departmental leads, developing, and implementing facilities requirements for emerging and expanding business units
  • Utilizing a tactical project management style to ensure projects achieve desired corporate objectives and meet requirements.
  • Developing a consistent methodology for project plans and schedules by identifying critical milestones that facilitate achievement of project goals.
  • Assuring optimal functioning of building assets, systems, and controls
  • Manages, directs, and leads vendors on repairs, preventative maintenance, and new installs.
  • Assists as needed to perform other related duties and special projects as required.
  • Accepts other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Required: 5+ years of experience working as an electrician.
  • Required: Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and all necessary equipment.
  • Required: Able to read blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Required: Proficient with manual and power tools
  • Required: Familiar with NEC requirements and company safety regulations. Knowledge and proficient with OSHA 10 or 30, certification required, all local requirements related to assigned work.
  • Required: Requires experience in coordinating services related to building operation and maintenance.
  • Required: Requires experience in supervising contractors and vendors.
  • Preferred: Experience in highly regulated facilities/industry.
  • Preferred: Associate degree in electrical engineering technology
  • Preferred: License electrical journeyman
  • Preferred: NFPA-70E certification.
  • Preferred: Experience with BMS (Building Management systems).

Additional Requirements

  • Must possess ability to sit, stand, and/or work at a computer for long periods of time.
  • May have exposure to blood-borne pathogens, extreme temperatures, high noise levels, fumes and bio-hazardous material/chemical including formalin in the lab environment.
  • Must possess ability to perform repetitive motion.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • This position requires periodic travel and some evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Job may require after-hours response to emergency issues.
  • Periodically scheduled on-call may require after-hours response for technical emergencies not explicitly related to assigned job responsibilities.
  • At times may be required to work weekends/holidays.
