Role Summary
The Senior Duchenne Area Manager (DAM) is a performance-driven individual contributor responsible for promoting the safe and effective use of Sarepta therapies to medical providers within an assigned US territory. This role supports a broader team focused on Duchenne therapeutics, consistently aiming to meet and exceed enrollment form goals while navigating a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The DAM must reside within the designated geography due to travel requirements.
Responsibilities
- Promotes safe and effective use of Sarepta therapies in accordance with product labels, training, and policies
- Drive demand for enrollment form attainment for Amondys 45, Exondys 51, Vyondys 53, Elevidys, and other launch products within defined geography
- Build and maintain referral networks outside sites of care by educating and selling products to identify new patients or patients diagnosed and lost to follow-up
- Develop strong relationships with key HCPs across Sites of Care, including physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, genetic counselors, and other extenders in neurology/neuromuscular spaces
- Conduct weekly in-person meetings with referring and treating physicians; collaborate with matrix resources as needed
- Execute a consultative selling model to achieve optimal results and demonstrate leadership in clinical selling skills
- Develop strategic account plans with defined objectives and ensure comprehensive territory coverage
- Identify naïve DMD patients where appropriate to ensure timely diagnosis and access to care
- Lead HCP education on genetic testing, access, and antibody assays, including pull-through
- Outreach to priority leads based on current business strategy
- Stay current on the DMD environment, disease knowledge, treatment and referral patterns, reimbursement, and barriers to care
- Allocate resources effectively to meet customer needs and address knowledge gaps in DMD care
- Adhere to regulatory, compliance, and company policies; exercise sound judgment
- Collaborate across functions to achieve goals; challenge conventions and share best practices within the DAM team
- Manage projects and additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree
- Required: 7+ years of field experience in the biotech industry, preferably in orphan diseases
- Required: Demonstrated understanding of healthcare regulatory environments, specifically in orphan/rare diseases
- Required: Excellent consultative selling skills with proven performance track record
- Required: Strong patient-centric approach to improving DMD care delivery
- Required: Ability to embrace new technologies and commit to ongoing learning
- Valid driver’s license and in good standing
Preferred
- Neuromuscular, Pediatric Neurology, or related specialty experience
- Product launch experience
- Track record of consistently exceeding sales goals
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite and Veeva/Salesforce
