Role Summary

The Senior Duchenne Area Manager (DAM) is a performance-driven individual contributor who promotes the safe and effective use of Sarepta therapies to medical providers within an assigned regional territory in the United States. The role requires living within the geography due to travel needs, and involves exceeding enrollment form goals in a fast-paced, collaborative environment to improve patient outcomes in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes safe and effective use of Sarepta therapies in accordance with the product label and company policies
  • Drive demand for enrollment form attainment with Amondys 45, Exondys 51, Vyondys 53 and Elevidys within defined geography
  • Build strong referral networks outside sites of care by educating and selling marketed products to identify new patients or patients diagnosed and lost to follow up
  • Build and maintain relationships with key HCPs across multiple medical subspecialties, primarily in neurology/neuromuscular
  • Conduct weekly in-person meetings with referring and treating physicians and collaborate with matrix team resources as needed
  • Execute a consultative selling model to achieve optimum results and demonstrate leadership in clinical selling skills
  • Develop strategic account plans with defined sales objectives and comprehensive coverage of the geography
  • Identify naïve DMD patients by educating HCPs to ensure timely diagnosis and access to care where appropriate
  • Lead HCP education on genetic testing, access, and amenability
  • Lead HCP education on antibody assays, access, and successful pull-through
  • Outreach to priority leads based on current business strategy
  • Stay current on the DMD environment, disease knowledge, treatment and referral patterns, and reimbursement barriers
  • Allocate resources to meet customer needs and address gaps in DMD understanding and care
  • Exercise sound judgment and adhere to regulatory, compliance, and company policies
  • Collaborate across functional areas to achieve goals and address issues
  • Challenge convention and contribute ideas for best practices within the DAM team
  • Manage projects and other duties as requested by management

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Required: 7+ years of field experience in biotech industry, preferably in orphan diseases
  • Preferred: Neuromuscular, Pediatric Neurology or other specialty experience
  • Required: Demonstrated understanding of healthcare regulatory and enforcement environments, specifically in orphan or rare disease
  • Required: Excellent consultative selling skills with a proven track record
  • Preferred: Passion for improving DMD patient care delivery and keeping the patient at the center of efforts
  • Preferred: Adoption of new technologies/techniques and continuous learning
  • Preferred: Product launch experience
  • Required: Track record of consistently exceeding sales goals
  • Required: Advanced use of MS Office Suite and Veeva/Salesforce
  • Required: Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Required: Valid driver’s license and in good standing
