Role Summary
The Senior Duchenne Area Manager (DAM) is a performance-driven individual contributor responsible for promoting the safe and effective use of Sarepta therapies to medical providers across a defined US territory. This role supports a broader team focused on opportunities for newly approved therapies to treat Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a rare life-threatening pediatric disease. The DAM is expected to meet enrollment form goals, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and travel within the assigned geography.
Responsibilities
- Promotes safe and effective use of Sarepta therapies in accordance with product label and policies
- Drive demand for enrollment form attainment with Amondys 45, Exondys 51, Vyondys 53, Elevidys, and other launch products within defined geography
- Build referral networks outside sites of care by educating and selling products to identify new patients or patients diagnosed and lost to follow up
- Build and maintain relationships with key HCPs across multiple subspecialties, primarily neurology/neuromuscular
- Conduct weekly in-person meetings with referring and treating physicians and collaborate with matrix team resources
- Execute a consistent consultative selling model to achieve optimal results and be recognized as a leader in clinical selling
- Develop strategic account plans with defined sales and executional objectives for territory coverage
- Identify naïve DMD patients through education of HCPs for timely diagnosis and access to care where appropriate
- Lead HCP education on genetic testing, access, and amenability
- Lead HCP education on antibody assay, access, and pull-through
- Outreach to priority leads based on current business strategy
- Stay current on the DMD environment, including disease knowledge, local drivers, treatment and referral patterns, reimbursement, and barriers to care
- Ensure resource allocation meets customer needs and addresses knowledge gaps in DMD care
- Exercise sound judgment and adhere to regulatory and compliance guidelines
- Collaborate across functions to achieve goals and address issues
- Challenge convention and share best practices within the DAM team
- Take on projects and other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 7+ years of field experience in biotech, preferably in orphan diseases
- Neuromuscular, Pediatric Neurology or other specialty experience preferred
- Understanding of healthcare regulatory and enforcement environments, specifically in orphan or rare disease
- Excellent consultative selling skills with proven performance
- Passion for improving DMD patient care and keeping patient at the center
- Willingness to adopt new technologies and continuous learning
- Product launch experience highly desired
- Track record of consistently exceeding sales goals
- Advanced use of MS Office Suite and Veeva/Salesforce
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and in good standing
- Ability to travel up to 70%
