About the Role
Senior Director, Value and Access: Drive payer value communication, access strategy, and innovation across the U.S. payer landscape for MASH therapies. Develop and execute value communication platforms for Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid payers; lead horizon scanning and payer innovation initiatives (e.g., value-based agreements, risk-sharing).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute payer value communication strategies to drive coverage, reimbursement, and pull-through.
- Build payer value stories/messaging using clinical evidence and health economics data.
- Partner with Brand Marketing to align payer, patient, and HCP messaging.
- Tailor value narratives to payer archetypes/coverage scenarios; refine value proposition as payer needs and competitor landscape evolve.
- Collaborate with HEOR and Medical to align payer messaging with evidence generation.
- Embed access/affordability messaging into HCP engagement plans; design omnichannel payer content.
- Create payer engagement materials (objection handlers, FAQs, scenario tools) for NADs/RADs/KADs and lead training to enable field teams.
- Anticipate payer evidence requirements; conduct horizon scanning (e.g., ICER, CMS innovation); analyze competitor access strategies and pipeline disruptions.
- Design/pilot innovative payer engagement approaches including value-based agreements; advise stakeholders on access risks/opportunities.
- Coordinate with Market Access, Pricing, and Trade for strategy synergy; contribute to pricing/strategy discussions.
- Ensure compliance of payer-facing materials; partner with Legal/Regulatory/Compliance to review and approve.
Qualifications / Preferred Skills
- Proven ability to synthesize clinical, economic, and market data into payer narratives.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. payer dynamics and field access operations; ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage vendors.
- Experience collaborating with commercial/field teams to drive access pull-through.
- Strong communication and project management; detail-oriented; strategic and proactive.
- Preferred: PharmD/MPH/MHA/PhD/MBA.
- Required: 15+ years in pharma/biotech; at least 5 years in payer value communications or market access.
- Strongly preferred: metabolic/hepatic/cardiovascular therapeutic experience; experience in Market Access Strategy, Deal Evaluation, Payer Account Management, or adjacent functions.
- Travel: ~20%.
