Role Summary
Senior Director, US Medical Affairs - Head of Rheumatology, based in Cambridge, MA. This leadership role within US Medical Affairs oversees zasocitinib rheumatology programs, accountable for medical strategy and ensuring TA- and product-specific strategies are developed and executed in collaboration with the Medical Unit. Serves as a subject matter expert on internal committees and with external experts, oversees data generation activities (including phase 4 studies), and contributes to medical unit insights and cross-functional communications.
Responsibilities
- Strategic responsibility for zasocitinib rheumatology Phase 4 programs
- TA and/or product focus may evolve to support organizational priorities; adapt as needed based on strategic direction
- Oversee and/or delegate execution of medical strategies by the medical unit in partnership with the PM to track progress against strategic plans, including development and communication of periodic reports
- Co-develop/coordinate US product medical strategy with medical unit; provide medical input into near-term and long-term strategic direction for assigned product/franchise
- Develop and update product-specific medical strategies in partnership with the medical unit, aligned with commercial brand strategy and global product teams
- Collaborate with VEG to develop evidence generation strategy
- Develop long-term lifecycle management strategy and tactics (HEOR, etc.)
- Maintain medical landscape and insights to inform strategy in collaboration with PM (as applicable)
- Leverage AI tools and data analytics to inform and support medical strategies, foster innovation, improve efficiencies, and aid decision-making
- Identify opportunities to leverage emerging AI technologies to improve patient care and healthcare landscape
- Serve as in-house medical and scientific expert for therapies within the assigned TA; represent medical affairs at internal and external meetings
- Generate insights and execute ad board strategies; synthesize insights for medical unit and cross-functional stakeholders; update medical landscape and strategy as appropriate
- Develop external KOL relationships and insights through advisory boards, professional associations, meetings, and conferences; manage global interactions with US KOLs
- Manage budgeting in partnership with PM or delegates and TA Head
- Partner with medical unit leads to ensure strategic alignment and execution of franchise/product medical strategy across tactics (grants, communications, publications, research, field medical, etc.); support medical review of materials
- Lead and coordinate with the medical unit; represent on SLT and cross-functional forums; provide input into confidential new business development

Qualifications
- Advanced Doctoral Degree (e.g., MD, DO, PhD, PharmD)
- 12+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience; 7+ years of relevant clinical practice, research, or academic experience
- Experience with clinical research, publications, congress presentations, and public speaking
- Dermatology and/or rheumatology experience
- Proficiency in evaluating, adopting, and embedding AI-powered solutions and platforms within medical affairs
- Ability to leverage AI tools and data analytics to inform and guide medical strategies
- Commitment to ongoing education in emerging AI technologies and their implications for rheumatology care
- Commitment to high standards of data privacy, ethics, and regulatory compliance in applying AI within medical affairs
- Travel up to 30%, primarily domestic
