Purpose
OTTAVA is Johnson & Johnson’s soft-tissue surgical robotics platform. This role is the downstream owner of US-specific product marketing, clinical marketing, Centers of Excellence (CoE) site management, and field marketing.
You will be responsible for:
- Downstream product management & US value proposition localization, translating global strategy/evidence into US-specific value narratives across clinical, economic, and operational dimensions.
- Defining value articulation for surgeons, hospital leadership, and administrators across the customer lifecycle; serving as primary downstream interface to Global Product Management and Global Marketing.
- Clinical marketing & evidence translation: lead US clinical marketing strategy, engage KOLs/early adopters, gather clinical/market insights (procedure mix, workflow impact, utilization drivers, competitive context), and feed insights back to global teams.
- CoE & customer advocacy strategy: define CoE selection criteria, create repeatable assets (case studies, testimonials, stories), and maintain relationships at reference sites.
- Build and own the US marketing plan (value frameworks, narratives, content direction) with Commercial Operations and Customer Success alignment; provide governance over downstream content; monitor performance signals to refine value.
- Marketing communications & US market messaging: translate global strategy into US messaging frameworks, ensure consistent/compliant locally relevant messaging, co-develop campaigns for adoption/utilization/expansion, and ensure end-to-end customer experience alignment.
- Build and lead the US OTTAVA Marketing organization; operate as a senior cross-functional leader and establish downstream ownership/decision rights.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA/advanced degree strongly preferred.
- 12+ years in product marketing/downstream product management/commercial marketing in MedTech or complex healthcare markets.
- Proven success localizing global products into market-specific value propositions.
- Strong clinical marketing and KOL engagement; ability to synthesize clinical/economic/operational inputs.
- Leadership experience in large matrixed organizations; track record launching capital/robotic platforms and surgery/procedural marketing.
Preferred
- Launch-phase/high-growth business experience; strong executive communication and cross-functional leadership.
