Role Summary

Senior Director, US Finance Lead responsible for driving the US finance function to support argenx’s innovation mission. Oversees financial planning and analysis, optimizes the US P&L, and provides actionable insights to guide commercial and medical affairs strategy. Partners with cross-functional teams to advance the US portion of the company’s vision from discovery through commercialization, acting as a key business partner to accelerate growth and ensure alignment with global priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Play a leadership role in finance to support argenx‚Äôs innovation mission in the US by ensuring the financial health, strategic allocation of resources, and sustainable growth of the US business
  • Responsible for all aspects of financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, focusing on value creation and aligning resources with strategic priorities
  • Actively involved in launch plan projects, providing financial support to key functional areas critical to the launch plan
  • Lead innovation by developing a state-of-the-art planning and management reporting process to forecast US financial results and deliver timely insights
  • Prepare annual budgets and quarterly forecasts in partnership with HQ Finance, reporting variances and recommending actions
  • Develop and maintain long-range planning (LRP) and a sales and operating model for multiple indications
  • Lead monthly management accounts to enable real-time decisions and support real-time dashboards and AI-supported insights for the commercial business
  • Develop and maintain inventory management for stable supply of all products to serve patients, including forecasting and reporting of US supply needs
  • Drive the development and maintenance of complex financial models, including LRP for bookings, revenue, expenses, P&L, and cash flow management
  • Partner with the Accounting team to support A/R, A/P, GL, analytical projects, and revenue recognition, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial records
  • Collaborate with the Controller and Internal Control Lead to review, update, and document business processes within the COSO framework, maintaining robust internal controls and SOX compliance
  • Partner with the Head of Tax to ensure timely management of local, state, and federal reporting requirements, including tax filings and tax risk monitoring
  • Serve as a key partner to cross-functional teams, driving the US innovation agenda from discovery through commercialization, and translating strategic vision into actionable results
  • Lead and mentor a team of Financial Analysts, providing financial leadership and analytical support
  • Execute special projects to drive operational efficiencies and business scaling while maintaining argenx culture and energy
  • Demonstrate leadership attributes aligned with vision, servant leadership, the argenx Way, inclusivity, and a balance of hands-on operations with long-term strategic focus
  • Bridge US operations with global ambitions by connecting financial strategy to the ‚Äúone company, one team, one plan‚Äù vision

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in finance business partnering supporting US biotech organizations
  • Advanced degree in Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10+ years of comprehensive accounting and finance experience, with significant time as Finance Director/Controller or equivalent
  • Strong modeling, analytical, and critical thinking skills; detail-oriented and structured
  • Excellent IT skills, including ERP systems (Oracle preferred) and Microsoft Office
  • Proven ability to thrive under pressure and tight deadlines with an autonomous, hands-on work style
  • Ability to scale thoughtfully while preserving energy and core culture
  • Ability to connect financial strategy to global ambitions and align US operations with the broader company plan

Education

  • Advanced degree in Accounting, Economics, or a related field
