Position Responsibilities
- Define and drive end-to-end translational strategy (pre-IND through Phase 1) integrating preclinical biology with clinical biomarker planning for proof-of-mechanism, patient enrichment hypotheses, and portfolio decisions.
- Lead and develop the Brisbane translational team (scientific excellence, accountability, career development).
- Partner cross-functionally (Translational Development, Precision Medicine, Clinical Development, Informatics & Predictive Sciences) to execute biomarker plans and interpret data.
- Oversee design, optimization, and validation of translational assays for clinical sample analysis (robustness, reproducibility, QMS compliance).
- Represent translational research in internal governance, external scientific meetings, and health authority interactions; provide input to regulatory submissions/briefing materials.
- Apply advanced analytics and AI/ML to translational datasets (multi-omics, digital pathology, longitudinal biomarkers) to accelerate hypothesis generation.
- Ensure audit-ready documentation, adherence to QMS, and continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree + 15+ years academic/industry experience; OR Master’s + 12+ years; OR Ph.D. (Life Sciences) + 10+ years + 8+ years leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in relevant discipline with 12+ years translational research experience, including leadership in biotech/pharma.
- Deep biomarker strategy/assay development/clinical sample analysis in early-phase oncology trials.
- Track record integrating preclinical and clinical data for dose selection and patient stratification.
- Familiarity with advanced analytics/AI-ML; computational tools for multi-omics/biomarker integration.
- Knowledge of GCP, QMS, and regulatory expectations for biomarker data.

- Brisbane, CA, US: $272,720–$330,476 (plus possible incentive cash/stock based on eligibility).
