Key Responsibilities
Thought Leader Strategy & Execution
- Develop, refine, and execute an end-to-end comprehensive national Thought Leader Engagement (TLE) strategy supporting Head & Neck Cancer brand objectives.
- Serve as executive-level sponsor for strategic KOL relationships and ensure consistent, high-quality engagement across regions.
- Identify, profile, and prioritize academic and community oncology thought leaders and influencers.
People Leadership
- Lead, develop, and mentor TLE directors/associate directors; foster a high-performance culture (collaboration, accountability, scientific rigor).
- Oversee hiring, talent development, performance management, and capability-building for the TLE function.
- Provide strategic direction, coaching, and problem-solving support.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Medical Affairs, Marketing, Market Access, Sales Leadership, Global Teams, and other stakeholders for cohesive, compliant engagement.
- Lead TLE contributions to advisory boards, speaker bureau strategy, major congress planning, and launch readiness.
- Synthesize and communicate insights to headquarters to influence brand planning and decisions.
Scientific & Market Insight Generation
- Oversee collection and translation of KOL insights, competitive intelligence, and treatment dynamics into actionable brand recommendations.
- Partner with medical/commercial leadership on scientific/clinical trends, adoption barriers, and differentiation.
Operational & Budget Management
- Oversee national TLE budget; ensure forecasting and allocation across advisory boards, congresses, speaker programs, and field activities.
- Ensure compliance alignment for KOL engagements, speaker bureau operations, and data collection.
External Advocacy Development
- Establish long-term relationships with KOLs across top academic centers, NCCN institutions, and community oncology networks.
- Guide collaborations and consulting/field insight programs to inform launch strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree required; MBA, MS, PharmD, or PhD preferred.
- 12+ years in oncology pharmaceutical/biotech commercial roles (Sales, Marketing, Account Management) with demonstrated TLE experience.
- Deep oncology expertise strongly preferred.
- Product launch experience (preferably oncology).
- People leadership experience leading field-based or cross-functional teams required.
- Ability to communicate complex scientific content across varied audiences.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical ability to translate insights into action.
- Experience in high-growth/emerging biotech preferred.
- Prior engagement of both academic thought leaders and community oncology influencers preferred.
Travel Requirements
- Significant domestic travel for OL engagement, team leadership, congresses, and national meetings.
Benefits (US salary band noted)
- Proposed salary band: $231,120.00β$346,680.00.
- Additional compensation may include discretionary bonuses and long-term incentives.
