Role Summary

Senior Director, Therapeutic Area Lead, Solid Tumor Oncology, based in Horsham, Pennsylvania. Leads strategic direction and evolution of the US Solid Tumor Oncology portfolio, co-creating and executing integrated strategies across scientific, commercial, and talent domains. Shapes clinical development plans, market access strategies, and medical market shaping initiatives while fostering innovation and organizational growth.

Responsibilities

  • Scientific Leadership & Clinical Development:
    • Provide expert scientific guidance to inform and influence clinical development plans, ensuring alignment with evolving therapeutic landscapes and unmet medical needs.
    • Collaborate with R&D, Medical Affairs, and external partners to integrate scientific insights into asset strategy and pipeline evolution.
    • Shape and influence clinical trial design and execution, leveraging data-driven approaches to optimize outcomes.
  • IS Commercial Operations & Strategic Positioning:
    • Oversee US Integrated Strategy Teams (IST), ensuring robust commercial input into compound strategy, stage gate decisions, and launch readiness.
    • Co-create strategic positioning for therapeutic assets, including differentiation, value proposition, and pricing strategies.
    • Partner with Global Commercial Teams (GCT) and Global Commercial Strategy Organization (GCSO) to align US and global vision, branding, and pre-launch initiatives.
  • Market Access & Medical Market Shaping:
    • Develop and execute access strategies to optimize patient reach and reimbursement, collaborating with market access, analytics, and finance teams.
    • Lead medical market shaping initiatives to influence stakeholder perceptions and drive adoption of innovative therapies.
  • Talent Development & Team Leadership:
    • Build and nurture high-performing teams, fostering talent development, mentorship, and succession planning.
    • Champion a culture of learning agility, collaboration, and cross-functional partnership.
  • Financial Acumen & Business Development:
    • Demonstrate strong financial acumen in evaluating business development opportunities, forecasting, and resource allocation.
    • Support commercial evaluation of pipeline and potential M&A assets, building robust business cases for new opportunities.
  • Strategic Evolution & Innovation:
    • Co-create the therapeutic area’s evolution, integrating pipeline assets and potential M&A opportunities into long-term strategy.
    • Drive innovation in go-to-market models, launch readiness, and organizational capabilities.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS required; advanced degree (MBA, PhD, PharmD, MD) preferred
  • Minimum 12 years of pharmaceutical business experience, including oncology
  • Proven track record in pharmaceutical marketing, launch, and commercial operations
  • Experience in clinical development, market access, medical affairs, analytics/finance, and supply chain
  • Demonstrated success in talent development and team leadership
  • Experience with business development, pipeline strategy, and M&A preferred

Education

  • BA/BS required; advanced degree (MBA, PhD, PharmD, MD) preferred
