Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical accounting assessments for transactions, including:
- Revenue recognition, collaboration and licensing arrangements
- Stock-based compensation
- Business combinations
- R&D cost accounting, including CRO arrangements and prepaid R&D
- Leases
- Draft and maintain technical accounting position papers for the global finance team
- Own timely preparation and detailed review of SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, DEF 14A), including accounting treatment and disclosures of MD&A, critical accounting estimates, revenue, R&D disclosures (pipeline acquisitions and IPR&D), licensing/collaboration/co-commercialization agreements, and EPS
- Advise leadership on accounting considerations during deal structuring
- Provide technical accounting guidance to global stakeholders on licensing/collaboration/co-commercialization, M&A, and financing/complex capital structures
- Provide SEC reporting and technical accounting leadership to Treasury on equity/debt offerings (review offering documents; support due diligence and auditor comfort letter processes)
- Partner with Investor Relations to align GAAP and non-GAAP reporting across SEC filings and investor-facing materials (including investor Q&A)
- Articulate issues and recommendations clearly to financial and non-financial stakeholders
- Assist in review of accounting considerations from significant contracts
- Partner with Legal, FP&A, Tax, and Investor Relations on accounting implications of significant transactions/ad hoc initiatives
- Co-develop disclosure committee agenda topics with Legal
- Benchmark peer disclosures and review leading disclosure practices for emerging risks, business activities, and newly adopted accounting standards

Consolidation of Financial Results
- Oversee timely consolidation of financial results, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis

Audit & SOX Compliance
- Serve as primary liaison with independent auditors on technical accounting and audit discussions for significant non-routine transactions
- Coordinate audit requests, prepare documentation, and resolve audit inquiries for quarterly and annual audits
- Own key internal controls over financial reporting and maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley or similar requirements

Qualifications
- CPA required
- 15+ years progressive accounting experience, including Big 4 and public company experience
- Deep global pharma/biotech accounting experience strongly preferred (especially with commercially launched products)
- Proven ability to interpret complex collaboration agreements and contracts
- Ability to leverage authorized AI tools to enhance productivity
- Superb attention to detail; strong planning/organization; ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication and strong executive presence, including experience presenting to the Audit Committee

Benefits (from role posting)
- Base salary range: $245,000–$299,000/year; bonus and equity; comprehensive benefits including flexible PTO, medical/dental/vision, life/disability insurance, and 401(k) (traditional/Roth/match)
