Role Summary
Senior Director of Talent Access to design, lead, and scale Madrigal’s talent agenda during a critical growth phase. Reports to the Vice President, Talent Access and partners closely with the hiring team to build systems, processes, and experiences that attract, hire, and retain top talent across business units and functions. The role combines strategic planning with hands-on leadership of recruiting and acts as a trusted advisor on employee branding, workforce planning, organizational design, and culture-building as Madrigal expands globally.
Responsibilities
- Define and lead Madrigal’s enterprise-wide talent acquisition strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities as we move from clinical to commercial scale.
- Partner with executives, hiring managers, and HR business partners to forecast workforce needs and align talent strategies with long-term business goals.
- Serve as a thought partner on headcount planning, role design, leveling, and competitive positioning in a dynamic labor market.
- Lead expansion efforts by developing scalable strategies for the U.S. talent market, ensuring we build an employee base that is reflective of the broad talent market place.
- Build a best-in-class TA function that delivers quality hires, exceptional candidate experience, and operational efficiency.
- Personally lead full-cycle recruitment for mission-critical roles.
- Elevate employer branding and position Madrigal as a destination for top biotech talent.
- Implement interview capability-building across the organization to ensure equitable, structured, and high-quality hiring decisions.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Finance, and hiring managers on benchmarking, workforce segmentation, and internal mobility strategies.
- Develop and execute strategies for contingent workforce management, vendor selection, and agency engagement to support flexible scaling.
- Partner with Talent Management to integrate career pathing, succession planning, and employee development with recruiting practices.
- Oversee optimization of Workday Recruiting, ensuring seamless integration with broader HR systems.
- Leverage AI and advanced sourcing tools to drive efficiency and reach untapped talent pools.
- Build and deliver talent dashboards and analytics to inform decision-making, measure performance, and continuously improve outcomes.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of progressive corporate TA leadership experience, with deep expertise in biotech/pharma, ideally in companies scaling from clinical to commercial.
- Proven track record of building and leading TA functions in high-growth environments.
- Expertise in Workday Recruiting and familiarity with AI-enabled recruiting technologies.
- Experience managing contingent workforce programs, external search partnerships, and recruiting compliance standards.
- Strategic, data-driven leader with leadership presence and exceptional influencing skills.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
