Senior Director, Strategic Planning and Operations, Oncology Clinical Development

Role: Senior Director, Project Management, guiding long-term portfolio strategy within AbbVie's Therapeutic Area (TA) to maximize asset value and pipeline progression. Responsibilities: serve as a core TEC member, advising Asset Development Teams on strategic alignment and application of the Asset Playbook; collaborate with Business Development and Ventures teams on external molecule assessments; provide strategic input into disease opportunity profiling and competitive environment analysis; facilitate the identification and integration of novel tools and technologies; drive stakeholder engagement considering external regulatory and patient landscape; coordinate strategic planning and portfolio documentation; foster external collaborations to advance disease understanding and holistic patient solutions. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees (PharmD, PhD, MD, MBA) highly preferred; 10+ years, ideally 15+ years, in pharma/biotech with expertise in research, development, or portfolio management across therapeutic areas; proven leadership in cross-functional, matrix environments; strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills. High-Value: leadership in strategic portfolio planning, cross-functional collaboration, and external partnership development within immunology, oncology, neuroscience, or related fields; experience in early or late-stage development, external assessment, and innovative technology integration.
