Role Summary

Senior Director of Scientific Strategy and Communications is responsible for the development and execution of a cohesive scientific communication strategy encompassing Medical Communications, Publications, Training, and Medical Information functions within Medical Affairs. This role supports the US launch and clinical use of Celcuityβ€šΓ„Γ΄s products, coordinates strategy across product life cycle, and oversees external agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead strategic scientific communication plans and execute tactics targeting internal and external audiences through medical communications materials, training, publications and medical information in collaboration with key stakeholders, aligned with medical strategy.
  • Establish a strategic data generation strategy to address unmet needs, insights from the field and to inform ongoing publication, communication and med info planning.
  • Lead strategic planning and the generation of Medical Information materials (e.g. scripted responses, Q&As, standard response letters, etc.) tracking, monitoring enquiry trends and metrics and proactively identifying unmet content needs and communicating product trends to the wider business.
  • Lead cross-functional global publication team meetings and drive the production of publications, often under tight timelines. Ensure materials are compliant, balanced, impactful and high quality.
  • Partner with field leadership to develop field-facing medical communication materials to educate HCPs on disease state, cell therapy, product-specific information and data.
  • Establish and update scientific narratives and platforms aligned with lexicon and data generation strategy.
  • Manage vendors and ensure deliverables are developed using good practices in a cost-effective manner.
  • Establish and implement standard practices and procedures for work and ensure timely review and approval of materials in accordance with SOPs and local laws.
  • Develop and maintain scientific and medical expertise through continuous learning and knowledge of literature and therapeutic landscape.

Qualifications

  • PharmD, PhD or other advanced degree.
  • Five plus (5+) years of oncology experience.
  • Minimum ten (10) years in a pharma/biotech company, seven plus (7+) years in Medical Affairs.
  • Prior experience in scientific communication strategy (publications, medical communications, medical information).
  • Strong understanding of GPP and other applicable industry guidelines; strong interpersonal, analytical, and communications skills; ability to incorporate feedback from multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated strategic, scientific and business acumen.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple activities.
  • Ability to manage through ambiguity in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
  • Organizational savvy and internal networking to enable alignment and execution.
  • Excellent communication skills; confident self-starter able to lead development and execution of scientific communications strategy.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically; hands-on approach.
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships with management, peers, stakeholders, including medical opinion leaders and professionals.
  • Ability to manage without authority.
  • Experience in interpretation and communication of scientific data, market research, competitive intelligence, and developing medical communication and educational content.

Education

  • PharmD, PhD or other advanced degree.
