Position Summary
The Senior Director, Respiratory Innovation, Vaccines and Infectious Disease, Global Epidemiology & RWE will provide scientific and strategic leadership in respiratory disease epidemiology at the above-asset level, leveraging real-world data (RWD), advanced methods, and technology across vaccines and infectious diseases R&D.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership in epidemiology and real-world evidence across multiple programs and assets
- Lead and develop a team of epidemiologists; ensure high-quality scientific output and delivery
- Oversee design and execution of epidemiologic studies (observational and post-approval)
- Partner cross-functionally (clinical sciences, safety, regulatory) to support R&D programs and evidence generation
- Contribute to governance and strategic decisions at an above-asset level
- Oversee scientific dissemination (publications, conference presentations, regulatory documents)
- Build and maintain external collaborations (academia, consortia, research organizations)
Basic Qualifications (Required)
- PhD/DrPH/MD/other doctoral degree in epidemiology, public health, biostatistics, or a related quantitative discipline
- 8+ years conducting pharmacoepidemiology and/or real-world evidence (RWE) studies
- Experience designing and conducting observational studies (e.g., post-approval, RWE generation)
- Experience leading epidemiology programs supporting clinical development and/or regulatory decisions
- Experience in pharmaceutical/biotech/vaccine or related research environment
- Experience building/managing scientific or technical teams
- Experience authoring or contributing to scientific publications or regulatory documents
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in viral and bacterial respiratory diseases; regulatory interaction/submissions
- Advanced methods expertise (causal inference, machine learning on observational data)
- Strong stakeholder influence; excellent written/verbal communication and conference presentations
- Experience building external collaborations (academia, CROs, consortia)
- Experience driving innovation/capability building/change in epidemiology/RWE

Benefits/Compensation (if based in listed US cities)
- Base salary range: $224,400 to $374,000; plus annual bonus and eligibility for share-based long-term incentive; benefits include health/insurance, retirement, paid holidays/vacation, and caregiver/parental and medical leave.
