Senior Director Research Competitive Intelligence

Role: Senior Director of Research Competitive Intelligence at Zealand Pharma, focusing on shaping research strategy in obesity and metabolic health through external data analysis. Responsibilities: monitor and synthesize competitive landscape including publications, patents, and conference data; develop independent, data-driven insights; utilize quantitative methods and data visualization to analyze complex datasets; produce strategic briefings and presentations; collaborate cross-functionally with Research, Medical, Development, IR, and Commercial teams; establish repeatable intelligence processes to support leadership decisions. Qualifications: PhD in life sciences or quantitative discipline; 10–15+ years in biopharma R&D strategy or competitive intelligence; deep expertise in obesity/metabolic disease biology, discovery chemistry, pharmacology; proficiency with multiple modalities (peptides, antibodies, oligonucleotides); strong quantitative, visualization, and communication skills; experience working with AI/automated workflows preferred. High-value biopharma specifics: focus on metabolic disease, peptide therapeutics, preclinical and clinical datasets, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
