Role Summary
Senior Director, Public Relations will lead the strategy and execution of all aspects of public relations, including both external and internal communications. As a business partner to executive leaders, you will help develop and communicate their objectives and expertise externally and internally, playing a key role in advancing the company and bringing its transformative therapy to patients in need.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive communications roadmap that aligns with business objectives and positions executives as experts in cell therapy.
- Develop and implement internal communication strategies to enhance employee engagement and alignment, especially during transformations.
- Partner with Finance and Investor Relations to lead preparations for earnings calls, focusing on messaging, press releases, and website updates.
- Establish an executive/c-suite strategy to amplify voices internally and secure thought leadership opportunities via media and social channels.
- Prepare and train spokespeople for media interviews and other engagements.
- Craft high-impact communication materials and build relationships with top-tier media and journalists to elevate the company's profile.
- Build relationships with external media outlets across traditional and digital platforms to secure local, regional, and national coverage.
- Develop and manage the content strategy for the company website, collaborating with cross-functional teams to showcase innovations and achievements.
- Serve as a liaison between Finance, Marketing, Commercial, Clinical Development, and BD; coordinate a unified communication calendar across departments.
Qualifications
- Required: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism, or a related field with at least 10 years of in-house or agency experience in biotechnology or pharmaceuticals.
- Required: Demonstrated experience crafting and executing traditional media, social media, and internal communications strategies.
- Required: Strong relationships with media, stakeholders, and industry influencers; existing top-tier media connections preferred.
- Required: Understanding of SEC and FDA regulations impacting communications.
- Required: Strong understanding of media trends, news cycles, and digital platforms.
- Required: Experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry and in analyzing and summarizing clinical data.
- Preferred: Energetic, efficient, resourceful team player and individual contributor.
Skills
- Excellent attention to detail with strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to develop clear, concise, and error-free documents independently.
Education
