The Senior Director, Payer National Accounts is responsible for developing and executing the strategic payer plan to secure appropriate market access for Day One’s first commercialized product in pLGG (pediatric low grade glioma) as well as future portfolio launches. As a member of the Market Access leadership team, this person is responsible for the development and implementation of long-term strategies for national payers, selected regional payers, state Medicaid, and PBMs to ensure formulary coverage and meaningful access of Day One’s products for appropriate patients. 

This position has the potential to be fully remote. Occasional travel will be required for in person meetings. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Develop and execute access strategies for tovarafenib and future assets and manage all aspects of relationships with assigned accounts
  • Responsible for maintaining relationships with specific payers on behalf of DOB to discuss all of Day One portfolio products and ensure appropriate access for eligible patients following approval
  • Responsible for the development of the account plan and the overall account strategy to include all internal and external stakeholders while working collaboratively to match customer’s needs and launch priorities
  • Organize and oversee key customer meetings by mobilizing teams across Market Access, Medical Affairs and the Executive Leadership teams.
  • Provide strategic inputs and customer insights to shape the launch strategies and the development of payer and reimbursement materials
  • Lead payer related account activities with cross-functional teams and key internal stakeholders to ensure Access strategies are implemented and tracking to established timelines, objectives and goals 

QUALIFICATIONS  

  • Desire to be part of a highly innovative company aimed at transforming the lives of children
  • B.S. degree, with minimum 10+ years’ biotech payer account management experience  
  • Oncology or rare disease launch experience is preferred  
  • Experience with an emerging commercial company is valued
  • Deep understanding of US payer trends and have established executive relationships with national commercial and Medicare payers, PBMs, Medicaid, and state government affairs
  • Ability to proactively analyze business problems, identify key issues, develop solutions, implement compliant tactical programs, and design metrics to measure business impact 
  • Strong communication and leadership skills and the ability to influence across stakeholders to set direction, align work efforts, and ensure outstanding execution
  • Ability to take initiative and act independently exercising strong business judgement within the scope of the role 
  • Ability to travel 50% or more pending business needs

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS 

The salary range for this position is $250,000 - $265,000. Day One considers a range of factors when determining base compensation. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary.
