Senior Director, Novel Drug Delivery Technologies

Role: Lead scientific and technical strategy in drug delivery innovation at Lilly, focusing on novel modalities like inhaled/pulmonary delivery for biologics, small molecules, and gene therapies. Responsibilities: define multi-year vision, guide platform development from feasibility to IND-enabling stages, lead cross-functional teams, represent Lilly externally with academic and regulatory stakeholders, and mentor scientists. Requirements: PhD in biomedical/mechanical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, or aerosol science; 8+ years in industry with expertise in non-conventional drug delivery platforms; proven translation of preclinical science into regulatory-ready solutions; experience with design controls, quality systems, and AI/ML tools for research acceleration; strong publication/patent record and leadership skills. Preferred: external scientific network development and broad knowledge of delivery modalities like ocular or transdermal systems.
